Thank you !!! I have a fairly high end computer and was really lagging with the borderlands texture pack on fast, far settings. Now I more than doubled my fps ... thank you again ...
I use CAF-mod also and would like to know as well.
It overwrites i.class, which is the class the CAF mod uses, so no, it's not compatible. Optimine also overwrites i.class, so you need a special i.class for optimine AND caf, just like you need a special one for optimine + optifog, so having all three would require yet another special i.class for it :v I hope it happens, though, I miss having the CAF fix.
Lauch Minecraft with less memory (yes, really). It needs maximum 256 MB and runs fine on all settings with the default texture pack. By default java allocates insane amounts of memory (1GB?) which then gets swapped to disk and the overall performance suffers a lot.
these mods make no difference to my speed. I run between 18 and 25 no matter what mods or what settings I use, even putting a 64x64 texture pack on made no difference. It won't go smoother and it won't get worse.
Hmmm. This begs the question:
In your video settings, do you have 'Limit Framerate: ON' ?
If you do, your framerate will not get any higher than the default maximum. Try setting it to 'OFF'

Awesome, Now it works with Optimime and really helps alot
Edit: It conflicts with The Miners Helmet Mod... :sad.gif:
I dont know anything about Java so I can't sort out what the change was. But if there is and easy way to merg the files and anyone feels up to the job here are the source codes.
I just tried going into the nether with Optifog installed... optimine (inio) and modloader as well, but the problem doesn't happen with just them installed. Here's what happened:
Enter portal. Watch as minecraft goes haywire entering/exiting the nether over and over again, and after around 30 of these minecraft crashes. Restart minecraft only to find your inventory missing and back at either the original spawn point, or if you're far enough away from it a random location within 200 blocks. *sigh*
I was using the experimental version on an nvidia 6150 if that makes a difference. Also, rendering inside the nether works just fine. It's just when you step into the portal... nether side or earth side matters not.
Oh because I couldn't find a glaring difference with the OptiFog mw.class and the Miners helment mw.class. I tried it again. And now everything is working... It must have been a glitch
Oh ****: Yea the Nether Is messed up with this mod. :sad.gif:
Can you explain the whole customer launcher thing?
Where would I copy and paste this info: set APPDATA=C:\Minecraft
start javaw -Xmx256M -Djava.library.path=bin/natives -cp bin/minecraft.jar;bin/jinput.jar;bin/lwjgl.jar;bin/lwjgl_util.jar net.minecraft.client.Minecraft
Just curious.
Thanks!
This works only on Windows, for Linux/Mac it should be similar but will use a shell script.
Create a file Minecraft.cmd in Minecraft installation folder (%APPDATA%.minecraft).
Paste the text in it and start it.
The first line is needed only if Minecraft is not installed in the default folder.
Technical: Optimine is generating a player update while loading a new World which the plain Minecraft was not doing, so switching worlds was going in an endless loop.
Any chance of making a mipmap version that works with optimine also?
+1
please make this.
Making an Optimine version is a lot of work, because Optimine changes the whole rendering process.
Is Optimine really making a difference for anyone? For me (2 PCs, 1 laptop) there is no difference. Please post your FPS with OptiFog only compared to OptiFog + Optimine.
Ok, I did some tests last night using the 'standard' benchmark test from http://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/fsdop/i_propose_a_standard_minecraft_performance/
It will be a lot easier to compare performance if everyone did their tests this way.
...
Vanilla: 175 fps Optifog: 180 fps Optifog OC: 286 fps
Optifog MM: 282 fps
Optimine: 210 fps Optimine+Optifog: 203 fps Optimine+Optifog OC: 321 fps
So WITH optimine+optifog I get +23 fps and +35 fps compared to just using Optifog.
I used the optifog versions prior to the Nether fix..
...
I agree.
Using the standard benchmark test will be nice, in this way we can compare FPS across different systems.
However the test as it is defined requires only FAR, FANCY and PEACEFUL.
I would also like to see results with other render distances, FAST graphics and no smooth lightning.
From your FPS:
Optimine+OptiFog compared to OptiFog = +12%
Optimine+OptiFog OC compared to OptiFog OC = +12%
Optimine brings about 12% on top of OptiFog, which is 5 FPS if running on 40 FPS (realistic fugures).
Are you using the INIO or 303 Optimine version?
The INIO version do not render the sunrise/sunset correctly, the 303 version works fine.
I use the 303 version when testing OptiFog.
Some more for you

Bizarre. Can anyone confirm this?

Miners Helmet mw.class
And here is the mw.class from OptiFog:
Check out my texture pack
I can conform this.

Luckily I remembered what I had before I crashed and lost all my items, so I put it into a TMI save for testing the nether bug.
*Wait 10 seconds of black screen*
*Load*
After updating to mipmapping:
*Wait 60 seconds of black screen*
*Still black screen*
However, it's interesting to note that I can load almost instantly while using the minecraft "force error" bat.
