I'd love to see this merged with Double View Distance. Forget optimine...
Double View Distance is trivial to add, but the map loading times will be quite long.
And even with OptiFog the FPS will take a nice hit, probably in half or even less.
oh my god! this actually works! i could never play on far. i always used tiny just so i can get around! if i could, id give you a big ass hug! :biggrin.gif:
Im having a major problem with this mod, when i install it everything in the game tuns invisible except for torches, signs and other things like that.
Could it be conflicting with one of my other mods? i use modloader, singleplayer commands, easy inv editor, zans minimap and kaevators superslopes.
THIS. WHY. :sad.gif: my frame rate is TRIPLED, but alls i can see are the flames on the torches. can someone please help us out here? here's a pic:
Mega for you, dude. I have a pretty crappy computer, and I used to only be able to play with short or tiny render distance, but now I can use normal almost laglessly!

First off, I'd like to congratulate you on a great mod. While I didn't have any significant boost in fps, the slowdown that happens when I leave the graphics are on far is gone now. Kudos to you
I noticed that both OptiFog and the Nature Overhaul mod both use the mw.class file. Is there any way to make them compatible?

Make sure to use the correct version of OptiFog.
I see similar bugs when installing the standalone version (which is not Optimine compatible) after Optimine.
Or it could be a conflict with another mod.
OptiFog is only tested on a clean Minecraft 1.4_01. Any other mod which modifies mw.class or i.class is potentially not compatible with OptiFog.

I should take a look at it.
If Nature Overhaul makes bigger modifications to the mw.class (like Optimine) then it will require a special version, which is a lot of work to make.
I just tried going into the nether with Optifog installed... optimine (inio) and modloader as well, but the problem doesn't happen with just them installed. Here's what happened:
Enter portal. Watch as minecraft goes haywire entering/exiting the nether over and over again, and after around 30 of these minecraft crashes. Restart minecraft only to find your inventory missing and back at either the original spawn point, or if you're far enough away from it a random location within 200 blocks. *sigh*
I was using the experimental version on an nvidia 6150 if that makes a difference. Also, rendering inside the nether works just fine. It's just when you step into the portal... nether side or earth side matters not.
Seriously?! What cpu you have! My awful toshiba laptop runs MC on tiny 35 FPS!!! 3 on far how much will it affect? Can some with a toshiba satillite L4500-S5000 or something related to that and give a feed back I can't test it until this weekend.

Help pl0x :smile.gif:
do you have other mods?
did you delete META-INF folder?
Zan's minimap is a ModLoader mod, so it does not modify any of the game .class files. What you say is just not true.
it runs 40+ on tiny and 20Short Fast Graphics
Current Version:
same On tiny and short
But On Normal/Fast graphics
its 17-20 fps from 10-12fps
Far/ Fast graphics
from 2-4fps now its 8-12 fps
I noticed that both OptiFog and the Nature Overhaul mod both use the mw.class file. Is there any way to make them compatible?
I get 25+ fps on fast and tiny
With Optimine + OptiFog:
I get between 35-65 fps on fast and tiny. I kept hitting 55-65 fps and when I looked up my fps went over 100.
This mod is awesome. Good job.
Included Optimine (inio), Optifog, Set guiscale 2
@1920X1080 Full Screen
Fast, Tiny: 65+ FPS
Fast, Short: ~30 FPS
thanks sp614x

Keep up the good work!
Here's the link if you don't know the mod. (Please respond because I use that mod with optimine and I want to use this mod as well)

I use CAF-mod also and would like to know as well.
Though, your fog does look nicer than default fog. I like the fact that I can see up to the fog limit, instead of this hazy fluff most of the way.
