Chrome has done the same. Likely due to the amount of malicious ads hosted there. Generally you shouldn't use websites that use Adfly as it's nothing more than a service which spreads malware in exchange for ad revenue.
I'd highly recommend moving Optifine's downloads to Curse or Github. I've always used the mirror so that I can avoid Adfly and I can only assume everyone else does as well. Using the Adfly links never actually provides a download of Optifine anyway. It just downloads some shady installer.
hey guys please stop packing the installer into the .jar format which no OS outside of XP knows how to deal with
I'm just guessing , have you been using Apple OS . It will see *.jar files as a zip file . It will be auto unzipped into a directory. You can change this behavior within the Apple OS.
In Linux , you can change association and run permissions in properties .
The problem is AdF.ly again! What should happen is the timer in the upper right corner changes to [SKIP AD] (never click anything else). That is not happening. My guess is AdFly has been hacked (once again).
If you cannot get through them to get to the download, use the mirror on the OP (page 1 post 1) and it works without a problem.
That's unfortunate because sp614x earns a few tenths of a cent for AdF.ly downloads.
Optifine is not being blocked by Firefox now? I still demand an official explanation, though.
Unless you tried the mirror (page 1, post 1) and were blocked it was never Optifine (AdF.ly eventually connects to the mirror anyway)!
It is not the first nor will it be the last time AdF.ly causes problems or is hacked.
When I tested AdF.ly I could not connect (Norton on Chrome)! The mirror worked without any problem. sp614x gets paid a few tenths of a cent everytime someone uses AdF.ly to download Optifine. IMO he deserves every bit of that and more! He did/will not do anything to harm your computer or load malware, AdF.ly does not have the same level of trust! If you have a decent antivirus you have little to worry about with AdF.ly either.
First I would like to thank you for the great world class mod that is the epic Optifine! Eternally grateful.
I was wondering if this may be of interest to you, its regarding a mod which brings back the void fog. It currently works with Forge but you can combine with Optifine.
Unfortunately the void fog is locking the fog distance so you cannot edit the distance of the fog layer using your 'Fog Start' panel. Its a real shame because it all works apart from that particular parameter.
Also combining Forge with Optifine causes some severe lag issues sometimes which I haven't got the slightest clue as to why? Would be great if you could not install Forge and somehow implement this void fog script into Optifine. I'm sure with some slight editing this mod could be compatible with Optifine as an option maybe could that be possible?
Im having the weirdest issue, and I can't seem to fix it.
I am running feed the beast infinity evolved with optifine and fastcraft updated to 1.25 (so they are friendly). I am also using the latest version of 64 bit java, and I've done all the old graphics suggestions. including updating my graphics driver on my old Radeon 5800.
My problem is basically. Optifine seems to hate windows 10, worked on 7, then I upgraded and now it doesn't work. anyone know what went wrong? I've been searching for a solution and have come up blank with google. The moment I finish loading minecraft and get to the main menu ram spikes and the menu lag's by a good quarter of a second, even the mouse is slower. loading worlds is out of the question, they crash every time.
Are you sure your RAM settings haven't changed? If it is suddenly using a lot more RAM, it seems likely to be relative to the total available rather than an absolute value. I take it you have removed Optifine and the memory usage is back to normal?
I might have found the problem. I had assumed if it was a mod conflict that it would simply not run, but it appears after testing. a basic vanilla 1.7.10 with fastcraft (the optifine friendly new version) and another basic mod. Optifine loaded fine and did it's job.
Now to begin the process of elimination with over 100 mod's. Joy.

Anyone have any idea's to help me shortcut this?
1st: This is off topic.
2nd: Remove half of the mods. If the game doesn't work - the bad mod is there. If it works, the bad mod is in the removed half.
Then repeat the process to find the bad mod.
@sp614x In Minecraft 1.13 snapshots I have more FPS (performance) because the LWJGL version is updated to 3 and is added the new World Generator system.
So, in 1.13 optifine is will have more FPS than 1.12.2?
I cannot specify the texture to apply to swords having sharpness 1 and fire aspect 1.
For a quick fix id suggest this:
enchantmentID requires all listed enchantments to be present.
enchantmentLevel tallies up all enchantments on the sword and matches to that value.
That would make CIT only barely functional though, using something like:
enchantments:[<ID:LEVEL>,<ID:Level>]
and matching to that exactly would actually make this useful. If a range of IDs or levels would be wanted you could use wildcards.
Combined enchantments (A+B) are currently not supported.
Please create an issue on the tracker so that it can be addressed: https://github.com/sp614x/optifine/issues
There are many resource packs which use CIT.
And finally, is there a way to match exact for enchantments? From what i read, the enchantmentIDs list looks for any of the listed enchantments being present instead of requiring them all and enchantmentLevels counts the levels of all enchantments together, rather than specifying levels for a cerain enchantment.
I played around some with nbt.tag.ench.id=[id] but i could get nowhere with that either.
Any help welcome!
Backslashes "\" will probably not work, resource packs use forward slashes only "/".
OptiFine usually complains in the log file (game output) when there is a problem and shows exactly what is incorrect.
Umm, something is wrong.. Since today (I think) Firefox blocks Optifine's website//

I think its the host problem (not optifine, but the hosting company.. Is @sp hosting it??)

Yeah, ESET blocks it too. Has Optifine been hacked? This is a serious threat to the security of milions!

Thankyou for your time and hope to speak soon.
It's on the Options menu, with or without Optifine. Were you expecting to be in video settings?
