Everyone and her dog are complaining about mod incompatibility, the next version will have to be more tolerant.
Specially ModLoader, HD Textures and Optimine will be checked. Also faster Occlusion Culling.

My offer to help was sincere. I only suggested incompatibility based on my tests. The way I see it you have three groups of users.
1. The people who sincerely want to help you continue to develop an incredible mod.
2. Those who love it but don't say anything.
3. The idiots who are upset because mommy didn't warm their pop tarts on time.
You're always going to get "flamed" by the pop tart morons. That's just how it goes.
My offer to help still stands. I'll help however I can.
Take a look at MCPatcher. That's another incompatibility problem.
P.S. For the record my dog is sleeping on the balcony at the moment. She has no complaints. =)

MCPatcher is a hard one, it may take a while.
I really love the menu integration in this release. Mipmapping looks nice with HD textures and helps with texture distortion in the place of a proper filter (anisotropic, bilinear, etc. Things we don't have!) It's a shame the mip-mapping currently breaks HD fire animations and the like, but from what I gather you already know there's a problem so I won't go into it.
I have just one real concern, and that is GLSL Shader compatibility. These two mods worked fine together in 1.4, but both mods alter the "Video" options. Will this be a problem when GLSL updates to 1.5?
Hey dude, I loved this for 1.4 and planned on using it again for 1.5 but your download host is veryyyyy tempremental, could you maybe add another mirror on megaupload or mediafire? Again, thanks a lot for the mod it makes Minecraft tolerable for me!
It's not his download host... it's adf.ly that's down.
The only mods I have are toomanyitems and optimine. Should I wait for the optimine compatible version of this? If I go ahead and do the latest version of optifog now, without waiting for the optimine compatible one will i be fine?

Pretty sure it'll work, but Optifog will overwrite Optimine.
I'd say go for it though, this version of Optifog *should* produce more frames than Optimine.
Not positive if this is compatible with TMI though...

Tested again OptiFog with ModLoader Beta 1.5_01v3, works perfectly (starts ok and world loads fine).
However OptiFog should be installed after ModLoader or any other mods.
Please test and report back, it should work.

The GLSL Shader modifies the following classes which OptiFog also modifies: EntityRenderer, RenderGlobal, and RenderEngine. So it is quite unprobable that they can work together.
Looking forward to the optimine compatibility, but take your time dude, chillax a little :tongue.gif:
Every time I turn on the load FAR option, I have to change my pants. Seriously, thank you for bringing it in. Also, how exactly does the mipmapping affect minecraft? I know what mipmapping is and how it works, but how does it work in minecraft? Doesn't seem like the kind of game that would support it... (If I'm wrong, please troll :biggrin.gif: I gained my mipmapping knowledge from wikipedia)

This really isn't relevant to the thread you're currently looking at.
I noticed something very strange after I installed this - when I hit F3, FPS and chunk updates always have the same value. That is, 16 fps, 16 chunk updates. 27 fps, 27 chunk updates. This is obviously not right. Anyone have any idea what is going on? I have no other mods installed.

This is normal for 1.5_01, Minecraft loads one chunk per frame.
In 1.4 it was loading up to 3 chunks per frame.
BTW: I installed to a clean .jar with good results. Dunno why so many are getting crashes.
Most likely incompatibility with other mods.
Running anything besides the normal .jar. I mean texture packs, MC update patches, other mods? Anything?
Xau's HD Texture fix (The latest one, 2 Beta 4)
Zombe Mod Pack

Yeah this doesn't work with the hd texture fix beta

..OK, I'll stop right there since I'm guessing its not compatible with TMI?
