How long do you think it's going to be until the final version of 1.8 comes out? 1 week? 2? And how long would it take to update the LSOD fix? 1 Day? If that? The prerelease is unplayable at the moment for many people out there, and a tiny bit of effort would fix that. I don't think it's too out of line to ask for a small fix to 1.8 so the rest of us can actually play it until the final comes out, which will be, knowing "Notch Time", way past the 12th.

jeb said its coming out monday. and its far from a "small fix" to update it. Stop being so demanding and rude.

I'm not saying the entire mod should be updated, just the Lagspike fix. I admit, I've never done any modding, but it seems like changing the autosave interval would be a lot simpler than something like TMI, which already has a 1.8pr version. If I am mistaken, I'm sorry.
Possible bug/compatibility issue. After installing IndustrialCraft2, wheneve I turn the brightness above off, the game crashes, and when I try to start minecraft, I get this crash error:
Minecraft has stopped running because it encountered a problem.

I fis this by going into options and changing the brightness to false. hope this helps.
Obviously bug fixes will break certain mods. And it's pretty stupid to think that they would release a pre-release of it and not be 95% done with it. If they really had a lot more to work on, they wouldn't have it out! What i was saying was, this mod is less prone to breakage because it mods the graphics, not blocks, mobs, ect. And as we know, they dont update graphical stuff nearly as much as other things. So, my only point was that there is nothing to loose from updating it to the pre-release.
From what I can tell, the pre-release wasn't supposed to go public. It was leaked, notch admitted that on his twitter, so it could still be, and is buggy. It was only meant to go to a few reliable sources to report bugs. But one of them uploaded it to a file sharing site and gave it to the public. And with the new changes to the field of view, and lighting, this mod may be harder to just port to 1.8.

Actually, it was "leaked" off of minecraft.net. Notch was hosting it. The only thing that was leaked was the URL.

Thank-you so much for this mod! It's unfortunate that I will not instantly have it come 1.8... I only just discovered it D:. My highest fps before I installed this was 34, now it's 86!! :DD Chances are that I'll be waiting for 1.8 until this mod is updated, lol.

and anithing runs perfect on my pc but minecraft idk why the hell im getting super laggi in minecraft but with that mod i can play it
You have like 4 programs running. Turn off chrome or some other program and try again.

With every update, not including the bug fix updates, all, and I mean ALL not just the ones that are edited, files are obfuscated. In simple terms it means when you want to reference the block file you would have to put the two letter file instead of just block. This is why all mods are broken when Minecraft updates. This is why MCP is heavily relied upon because it unscrambles the files and everything inside of them making it easier to mod and when your finished it'll obfuscate your files to work with the latest version of Minecraft.

love this mod, made playing on the go via my mini311 netbook much more enjoyable. looking forward to the continued support through version 1.8. :biggrin.gif:
Can I suggest that for the 1.8 version of minecraft you add the option to toggle fog with the 'F' key again, because that along with everything that's already in this mod would be awesome once again.
I don't remember if it is you that I have seen post this before.
But, WHAT ON EARTH ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?
I just double-checked this. The "F" option for fog is still there using the same default "F" key it always has. I have never seen it disappear.
Is it possible, by some chance, that you either accidentally changed the default key so it is no longer "F" to change the fog distance? Or, perhaps maybe you have some other mod installed that uses "F" for something else and changes it so that key is either no longer available nor the default for that option anymore?
Have you gone into your control options menu and double-checked to see if it is still the default key or even listed anymore? OPTIONS --> CONTROLS --> "Toggle Fog" ( bottom option in the right column ).
If it isn't there at all, what happens if you install only OptiFine and look for it then? Is it still there until you install some other mod?

Waiting until the official 1.8. Weird that was removed for 1.8. Which, I'm kind of glad for actually. Personally, I would hate to see it be made a part of OptiFine unless it can be completely disabled (not just mapped to some lesser-used key for instance).
So, apparently it was more of a new feature request rather than asking for him to put it back into OptiFine after having removed it or something which is what it had looked like to me was being asked. Although, I also thought someone had also asked about this even before 1.8. Maybe not.

Nope.
Then maybe your computer is too slow for minecraft.
Thanks. Now, you tell me. LOL
