Thank you zurrok99, using the 1.8 version of optifine worked! I really appreciate it.
I have another question, though- Where am I supposed to put the extra textures for randomobs? Googling isn't bringing me any answers for the newer versions of optifine.
Hi, i made a post about this a week or two ago, but nobody answered so, sp614x, do you think you'll add CIT? i would really love this feature being added as it's the only mcpatcher feature not yet into optifine, it's useful for adventure maps and it also makes your game a little more varied/fun
Hey sp614x, thanks for earlier help, turning off connected textures did help the problem a little. But ultimately, it was the mipmaps. Turned them completely off, and now I'm averaging 150 fps even in an HD texture pack
im, having an issue, odd one, came out of nowhere, not being reported in the console, as fine as the logs are concerned, the game is still running normally -_-. anyway, my Clan's got a FTB Infinity 1.3.4 server ( i know they don't officially support OF, but ive never had any problems before), and a few days ago my game started having a weird issue. the game itself doesn't crash, but the window locks up/ stops updating. you can still hear in-game sound, and the clicks when you open the Menu/inventory screen. im using OF 1.7.10_HD_U_B6. ive narrowed it down to being an issue with optifine, the problem is the issue literally came out of nowhere, as i hadn't changed any settings in over a week, and replacing OF with a fresh download AND deleting OF's config file doesn't do anything.
Without optifine everything works, I think is the new Loading Screen added by forge.
This version is needed for some mods, and without Optifine I've fps issues. Thanks in advance!
As stated previously by the author, Optifine is not compatible with the latest versions of Forge.
I run Forge 1388 for 1.7.10 just fine, but at 1389 and above the Forge team added a loading screen.
For now you will have to downgrade to Forge 1388 to use Optifine. (I have no idea if the author of Optifine plans on adding support for the loading screen or not.)

I've seen this asked a handful of times, but haven't found an answer. Sorry if you've answered this a ton of times already.
I just built an Iron Golem farm in the spawn chunks. It works just great without Optifine. WIth Optifine, the spawn chunks don't update unless I'm within chunk update range, so the golems don't spawn. Is there some combination of option settings that will override this so that the spawn chunks work as expected?
I'm using 1.8.3 HD U D3, no other mods, single player. (And I hate not running with Optifine, it looks so much better with it on. It's an awesome program.)

Video Settings -> Performance -> Smooth World -> OFF?
Can anyone help me figure out why my text gets what looks to be my lava and water textures applied? It happens every time I enable Optifine. I have changed the only config option I have found that directly refers to text, but I'm not sure what else to mess with.
Running Minecraft 1.8 with Forge 11.14.1.1334 (have also tried the last couple of development builds.)
As a side note, I see Optfine now supports Minecraft 1.8.3, but the only way I know to use it is with Forge... which doesn't. Is there another way I could be using my mods that would allow me to use the more up to date version of the vanilla game?

someone's probably making direct opengl calls instead of routing them through the state manager. Whether it's Optifine or whatever mod that is adding the text I couldn't say
Lots of mods like Tinker's Construct now require more recent versions of Forge, will there be another update for 1.7.10 to alleviate the issues with the loading screen?
Is there a way to keep Alternate Blocks on without rotating textures? I like to keep it on so I can see some of my 3D block models, but it also rotates the netherrack which annoys me.

Is it part of 1.7.10? I play modded a lot and most packs are 1.7.10
No it's 1.8, without context I just assumed you were asking about the latest version.

So is there no multicore version for 1.7.10?

for some enormo mods, like lord of the rings, this mod is needed to prevent "Freezeing" for 2-3 seconds, making the mod unplayable

Yes!
I tried various things, but that wasn't one of them. Thank you so much. I'm so happy.

I have tried to figure that out for awhile but didn't know that it was related to Optifine. Thanks!

don't click this link...
I have a small suggestion - Auto-hide the hotbar a few seconds after selecting a slot.
No idea if it's possible, but it would be nice to have that little bit less screen-clutter!

Until someone ports this legendary mod I am leaving the minecraft scene. http://www.cosc.canterbury.ac.nz/greg.ewing/minecraft/mods/ArchitectureCraft/#mozTocId598776 I have watched too many legendary mods die and carpenters blocks sudden fallout out of mainstream made me cry. I realize the source is messy but some of the best mods from 1.6.4 and 1.7.10 were.
