Great plugin overall and up until now no problems and love the performance boost it gives me. However I recently decided to make the Iron Titan designed by Tango Tek and kept having problems with the villages merging. I eventually decided to disable Optifine and after doing this the farm worked perfectly.
It seems that Optifine unloads the spawn chunks like any other chunk and also when you go into the nether.
Is there a fix for this or could you incorporate an option in a future release that allows the spawn chunks to stay loaded?
Hm. So I was digging around and found connected textures stuff, so I'm bringing back some of my connected textures from before the resource pack switch. It was great, I got my old bookshelves working then.... *thud* brick wall.
I can't make a custom sugarcane texture...? Here's the files I'm using to attempt this.
They just don't work with Optifine yet. Same happens to me, works perfectly on MCPatcher though.
So far Sugarcane,Rails,Redstone Repeaters and Glass Panes(!) won't work yet.
Also Gold and Iron Pressure Plates but those both aren't supported by either Optifine or MCPatcher.
So we have to wait.
Not reported -> not fixed.
The sugarcane vertical CTM is now fixed in C1.
Glass pane CTM should work even with default resource pack.
You snuck in bilinear and trilnear filtering?! Hnnnnng!
AF + 8X AA looks AMAZING... gonna make some awesome screenshots. Not playable unfortunately, drops the frame rate too low on my poor old 280X, but still great for screenshots.
Possible bug report - 16X AA doesn't seem to actually work (for me at least), it just reduces the frame rate like crazy but the texture edges still look as jaggy like no AA at all.

question: I am using the latest 1.7.10 version but I cant find the multicore/ multi thread option, is the option still there? I remember there was an option like that in older versions.

The optimized Multi-core chunk loading is default now and it can not be turned off.

Not all AA and AF levels are supported by all graphics drivers.
Especially for AA it s not possible to check if the selected AA level is supported or not, the only way is to try it.

Ok thanks for explaining, 8X AA looks fantastic anyway.
Excellent work!

I have an Intel HD 3000 gpu with updated drivers and I only get 10-25 fps with the latest 1.7.10 optifine no matter what settings I change my fps doesn't change, isn't this mod supposed to improve fps by 200%?
Hmm ... no? If you check the poll above you'll see not all people get such good results. Also everything in Minecraft, except for shaders and some select extra video functions like AA, is heavily reliant on the CPU, not GPU.
So if you have a lousy CPU even Optifine won't help it much. A good GPU helps a lot if you have a good CPU.
And on that note: Intel HD 3000 is crap.
But I have an I5 3.5 ghz cpu....
I can even play games like death space 3 and GTAIV with no lag and high fps....
Yes I use mods but if I use vanilla without mods the fps gain is minimal 20-30, I have noticed that with optifine the javaw.exe process just takes 40% of my cpu and without it like 60-70%, I use java 64 bits to run minecraft and allocated 3gb to minecraft, I get no lag at all while playing but the fps is very low, also yes I have changed optifine settings but no luck at all.

It all depends on the specific bottleneck for your computer
- it may be the Java version - check the native Mojang launcher, it downloads the latest Java matching your operating system -> https://launcher.mojang.com/download/Minecraft.exe
- it may be the render distance - smaller is faster
- it may be the OS using the integrated graphics instead of the dedicated GPU (if available) - check the graphics driver configuration panel
- it may be the OS or GPU running in power-saving mode - especially on laptops, check the system settings
- it may be the window size - sometimes window mode is faster than fullscreen, sometimes it is the other way around
- it may be the graphics driver running in half speed because it does not recognize Java as a game - update graphics driver
- it may be VSync - set Max Framerate to Unlimited
- it may be VBO - try with VBO set to ON
- it may be the fog - some older GPUs hate fog
- you can also try Fast Math and Smooth World
Same issue occurs when trying to put each on their lowest setting, 2. Even when trying with one off and the other on the lowest.

As you can see I'm properly using 59-62, and if I'm going by this bookshelf config right, in theory the reeds should work. But it doesn't. Why?
Am I using the wrong name for the properties? I've tried sugarcane, reeds, 83, minecraft:reeds, none work. I don't get it. What am I doing wrong?
Preview OptiFine HD C1 Ultra for Minecraft 1.8 is available here
Changes:
- enabled Antialiasing and Anisotropic filtering
- some AA and AF bugfixes
- (ninja update) fixed dripping water/lava
- (ninja update #2) fixed sugarcane connected textures

There is no "block102.properties" in "Ragecraft CTM Addon.zip"

Fixed, coming in C2.
The "block102.properties" is not needed, glass panes now work with "glass.properties" which uses "matchTile=glass".
