I wish there was a version of this that only focused on performance improvements and worked with forge. All these features for textures make it impossible for it to work with McPatcher which I find offers more options and customization. Or, rather than a whole other version, just let the standard or ultra versions to give you the option to let optifine handle texture improvements in case you just wanted the mod to focus on performance boosts and let another mod handle textures.
I sincerely hope that isn't too much to ask. This mod is amazing in improving performance and customization of performance altering features. Performance improvement is what this mod excels in, yet I feel all these texture improving features are just an after-though that prevents mods that specialize in that field from working together with Optifine...I'm not saying I wish they weren't in this mod, but an option to include them in the mod would be nice!

Optifine and mcpatcher have almost the same features at this point. Please explain what mcpatcher has that Optifine doesn't so he can add it.
I just like some of the things mcpatcher can do and don't like waiting for optifine to add them in afterwards. :/
It'd be nice if they could work out all the conflicts, but I guess that's more mcpatcher's problem than it is optifine's.
My skin mostly doesnt load or my skin changes to another players. Also when starting minecraft and connecting to my realms server, the game crashes. My head on the title of the realm is my Optifine cape. Please fix these bugs.

i test game with- opti and without oprifine
all optifine settings - set MAX quality
and (!) with optifine game look even worse - idont know but its bad lighting/shadow
Yes, some "cute" functionalities are not present in Optifine but, I believe the main objective that people with high requests keep forgetting is that, Optifine was made mostly for FPS boost and then for some graphic improvements when, in the other hand, MCPatcher is to give all the fancy and pretty stuff to the game, not fps boost.
its answer on my question too _ =)
- opti more decreasing graphics during optimization then improving her
I'm trying to get custom colors on my spawn eggs and potions to work. I've created a properties file on MCPatcher and it worked fine. But when in Optifine, it wont work. Can i please have some help?
I was wondering if anybody has any idea what causes this, which happens with or without Optifine (lag spike of death? Not affected by autosave however, which doesn't cause any visible spikes even on the default 2 seconds, only happening on some older versions):
The weirdest thing is, as I mentioned in detail here, is that it can go away if I pause and leave the game sitting for a few minutes with a higher FPS when it does (basically the spikes eat up FPS, which wouldn't be that bad otherwise; as it is it looks more like 5 FPS); this only happens in 1.7+ versions. Bizarrely, if I artificially lower FPS with the FPS slider the spikes still occur at the same interval (occurring after a fixed number of frames, as seen by constant spacing on the lagometer, which slows down to match FPS; see link for example). Chunk updates, etc also don't correlate with the spikes; when they disappear (may take a reload or two) they don't come back.

Is there any way to decompile OptiFine_1.7.2_HD_U_C2 with mcp903? Every time I try it gives me 400 duplicate methods/fields errors. Some of the duplicate methods are different in their code so I'm not sure which one to delete. I need to create more or less of a custom model for a block, and the RenderBlocks class is already edited by Optifine. I can't use Forge either, I've spent hours making the mod up until this point without Forge, so... not recoding the entire thing

I found this weird rendering bug. Any idea whats causing it? I was using faithful 32x32 and Opdifine HD U A4 for 1.7.10. The blocks seem to render after I hit the floor. It's weird. Wondering if this is happening to everyone? It's not like it's "everywhere". It seems to happen now and then in weird occasions. I allocated 4GB of RAM to minecraft....

Did you mean decrease the quality of the game? Because you can do that by following the OP for instructions.

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
