On 1.5.2, if you use a texture pack with a mod that has over 1024 textures the game will immediately crash when Optifine is installed. I was wondering if this was fixed in the 1.6.X versions? If not, can it/will it be fixed?
i used to be able to run 128x128 resource packs a solid 60fps no problem. now i'm down to 30ish fps without optifine in 32x32. i miss this mod sooooo bad.

I believe this was reported a while ago and maybe fixed in 1.6.2.
Hm seems 1.7.2 OF may took a while. Ok feel free to use this. Thats how I went from 20fps to stable 90fps in 1.7.2
Maybe you use this as temporary fix till the new optifine comes out. For the whinners, calm your nuts, tits or both! 1.7 is a hugh update and changed a ton of code. Be patient...

I gave my Minecraft ram in my java settings and it did just that but better. I went from 10 fps in 1.7 to almost 120 fps xD It fluctuates often but its good until optifine comes out.
GUYS, they changed hundreds of thousands of lines of code, just wait, and perhaps do something else.
I agree with you people need to do something else until Minecraft Coder Pack is updated. Not much work is going to be done anyways do to MineCon. I'm sure a lot of the MCP coders will be going to MineCon so its going to add to the update delay. Maybe now would be a good time for people to try out playing modpacks, custom maps, or just take advantage of Steam Halloween sale.
Sheet can't believe my minecraft FPS increased alot from 1.7 update I don't really know what they did. Oh well, with OptiFine it will be way more Wohho!
I just can't wait on lowest on 1.7.2 i got 25-32 FPS on 1.6.2 on higher configurations with optifine i got 65-55 FPS so i can't play on parkour server right now :/

Thanks.

Yes Sir
OptiFine needs its own discussion board, with organized sub topics now. Heck, it needed it a year ago.
Whenever Minecraft Coder Pack is updated.
(Pssst. Read the original post.)
