I just tried OptiFog 1.7.3_HD_E_MT. Installed on a fresh minecraft.jar, deleted meta-inf, installed modloader first, no other mods. After a couple minutes of gameplay with default settings this happens:
I think the multithreaded version has promise however I'm going back to Optimine 1.7.3 for now.
Im having problems with this. All i have is CJBs mod pack installed and whenever i installed optimine and optifog, now i cant use my x-ray mods! :sad.gif: lol. can anyone help? :sad.gif:

Install CJB's mod over optifog and they both will work. Had that before.

Life is a Learning Curve.... Unfortunately, you're stuck on the bottom...amongst the bones of the stupid.
I have been getting the issue with areas becoming invisible or flashing with OptiFog 1.7.3_HD_E. Usually when blocks and torches are placed, or water is stopped from flowing.
I notice you have added an experimental fix for the multithread version, are you going to do the same with the non-multithread version?
Or if I'm the only person who has this problem with OptiFog 1.7.3_HD_E can anybody give me any hints as to what is causing it?
My Graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce 6100 nForce 405 (yes I know, it sucks :sad.gif:).
The drivers are up to date.
I tried installing Optifog on a fresh jar and it still does the same.
Try the newer version. Testing it right now and it allows me to log into multiplayer.

The file Minecraft-1.7.3.jar didn't actually exist prior to starting up MCPatcher, so it is a backup of the Optimine/Optifog-modded .jar file. Not sure if that makes any difference, but there you go.
I installed the modification for my mother after trying it myself. She loves Minecraft but she is blind in one eye and with her vision, rapid movements give her migraines from the strain. Using this mod and disabling all the animations definitely helped while also using it's tweaks to make give her 60FPS without having to use Tiny render distance was a huge bonus.
All in all, this mod can also make this game more visually appealing than just give it a performance boost.
256*3=768, which no computer up to now have been able to handle. 512 is more realistic.
View distances combined (FarView is bold): 32, 64, 96, 128, 192, 256, 384, 512
Hi I don't know much about modding and installing mods so I'm a little confused on which mod to download.
I'm looking for the one that increases performance for lower end PC's.
Recently, I found this mod not effective in the least when there is lots of lava - I have all the settings as low as I can, all the settings to Fast, and on Tiny. I lag like crazy on lava maps. But I turn lava animation to Off, yet it still lags. Any way to fix this lag?
If I may be so bold to request a small change to the Farview options: For the Farview Short setting, would it be possible to move the fog border further away? Farview Normal is just a bit too stuttery, so Farview Short would be the ideal view distance if only a large part of the landscape was obscured by fog. It kind of negates the increase in view distance over default Far when there's so much more fog on Farview Short.
It has helped tons of other people. Must be your system specs or you did something wrong.

My Gaming Channel:https://www.youtube.com/c/TinfoilChefsGamingChannel
Great! Now I don't get a black screen, yay. That fixed it. Probably the 'compatible with more graphic cards' part.
I did notice it was laggy when I was facing a forested area with a lot of tall grass (that Notch added).
The lag went away when I turned elsewhere. This may just be my computer and not OptiFog/Mine though.
My YouTube Channel - vingamer0723! Like Platformers?
Yes it can. I've used 512 on single player. My cards a GTS 450.

okay so i install the combined optifog and optimine pack. Then i install the cjbs mod pack?
Thanks in advance :biggrin.gif:
OptiFog+Optimine is renamed to OptiFine.
Version HD_F is out
What is new:
- Time - may force Day Only or Night Only
- ClearWater - increases water transparency and decreases underwater fog
Version Multithreaded Light should be more compatible than the full multithreaded.
Still uses the second core, but may be less efficient.
