When I clicked on the Download Link from the 1.5.1 optifine, my Antivirus went off and block an intrusion, it was from the adfly page. I scanned my computer, just letting you know.
If your AV doesn't like Adfly (I don't blame it) simply use the mirror link. A rare few of their ads do contain viral code. My Avast Antivirus goes nuts when those ads pop up.

Alright, maybe someone can tell me what's going on here. I have found that when optifine is installed, regardless of what other mods are in my magic launcher, I have a funky little issue with my water, to where it will only show in the distance relative to my render distance, even though there's further blocks. I assume this might be that without the fog the water's just naturally limiting itself to what it should be. Possibly. If someone can tell me what settings are causing this, or how to fix it. I'd greatly appreciate it.

Description: When Optifine is installed, right- and left-clicking will stop all walking. E.G., you're walking towards a zombie, you smack it, you stop in place.
Tested uninstalling the other mods, running Vanilla, different versions of LWJGL, and a few other trials. This has been done on multiple computers, and after extensive testing, has been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt to be caused by OptiFine.
Anyway, this is so game-crippling as to actually warrant an uninstall.
Do you have Minecraft Forge? If you do, you can't have it. OptiFine is currently incompatible with Forge. You'll have to use ModLoader. Also, try MagicLauncher. It's extremely helpful when enabling and disabling mods.
I'm having a bit of trouble wit OptiFine and Computer Craft Monitors, I read the first post on page 1504, but when pressing the keys, my game freezes. Anyone with a fix, I would love to top out at 120 FPS like I normally get with this mod instead of 50-60.

My guess is Optifine renders vertical slices of chunks instead of entire chunks (at least from my experience in FTB,) so the tops of those chunks, for some reason, isn't getting rendered.

Yes, same here, very weird artifact. If you go towards those areas and let them load properly, when you get back they are visible, as if optifine DID NOT load them.
I have very weird issues with that: to one side I can see very far (I set to +112 distance) and to other side it loaded only about as vanilla far, and them there are "chunks" loaded farther, others not ... a big mess. And none are far enough to get FOG on them (set to 0.8).
Seems like far distance is broken!

Seems like the problem is actually on how it is loading chunks. Yet, I get these issues even at vanilla far distance. Some 2~3 chunks away DIDN'T LOAD AT ALL, only if I move close to them, also will load if I get to the menu (just go to the menu and back). I look to other side, the same: very close holes in the scenario.
Had also several instances where mobs/villagers where walking on nothing!
Tweaked with all the settings, disabled all the performance options, and had no change in effect nor FPS.
I decided to upgrade to Optifine HD B1 Ultra and I'm still having issues with custom skies. I have two skyboxes that are supposed to show up at night, the stars and an aurora. The aurora shows up fine but the stars do not - it's just a black sky as a backdrop.
This is the actual .png of the sky (from sheep's pixel perfection tp)
I tried to remove Loafcraft's aurora to see if somehow using two skyboxes at night somehow messed things up but that's not the case because then I still just get a black night with no stars.
Just a sample of what I see from the top of my building (regardless of any setting change):
If I stay there looking for AGES it will slowly load the chunks, guess if I leave a year it would load far.
If I hit ESC and go to the menu, it loads MOST of the chunks, but doesn't load in some far distances, which I think are places I have never been.

Alright - So, when using Ultra or Standard, I'm unable to use any of the texturepacks that I have. However, when using light, I can.
When I start Minecraft (Using Standard or Ultra and one of the texturepacks), I get this error.
Anyone know how to fix it?

I don't know if anybody experienced this, but after I installed the Ultra B1 the fire ( arrows in fire, mobs in fire ) shows messed up, but if I put fire normally it shows fine.
I got a bug with HD_B1.
When i place itemframes and put a block in it, everything is fine.
But when i put an item into the frame, you can't see it

Change you dropped items settings into fast. The items should render.
Then change it back to fancy, now u has fancy PLUS item fram rendering!
- Yeah I said it doesnt affect framerate by a lot if you have a good graphics card. The guy I answered to has an AMD 7870 2GB, so he's fine.
- Nope. Like sp614x mentioned in the OP, AA/AF isnt active at the current B1 version. He did mention in 1 of his posts that forcing AA/AF through the driver control panel works, but for me it doesnt. I have a Nvidia card. Maybe for AMD users it might work, but I doubt it. Usually, if a game doesnt support it, AA wont work, although AF will almost always work if you try to force it On through the driver, and I'm talking from experience here, so I could be wrong. You dont have anything to lose if you try though

Well i have a 6670, quite decent i guess, i tried running r3dcraft 256x256 but i get a black screen after minecraft logo or the game crashes when i change it in game with problem rendering screen message. I usually run 128x128
Hmm, no offense but the 6670 isnt decent, its supposed to be low-mid end. How much graphics memory does your 6670 got? There's 512 MB and 1GB versions, as far as I know. If its the 512MB version, then I guess you cant run such high res packs as 256x.
Also, dont change the tex pack when you are already in game. Change it on the main menu, and I suggest restarting Minecraft after you switch to your texture pack. A lot of issues can be avoided this way, with the most common ones being lighting issues and out of memory errors.

I really dont know. You should be able to run a 256x tex pack. Then again I havent tried Redcraft myself.
i could get to the main menu and into the game with vanilla minecraft with 256x but fps is like crap, i havent tried running it with mcpatcher though, i googled around and some people are having the same problem but just recently in 1.5
I have B1 Ultra installed with 1.5.1, but ever since getting a new computer, all optifine versions since A4 have been freezing minecraft as soon as I load a map. No other mods installed. Any ideas? I've tried multi-core and smooth loading before starting, same freeze at the same time. I'm loading through the latest magiclauncher. Java 7 installed to the computer.
I have a problem with Optifine: Everytime I try load Optifine onto MagicLauncher, it says "Not Compatible." I'm using the latest version of Optifine (Ultra B1) and no other mods. Is it a problem with Optifine, or MagicLauncher?
