I have a problem, i don't see any connected textures when playing with ex. soartex fanver texture pack (which has ctm stuff) but i do see connected textures when using sphax. i'm currently using the preview optifine but older versions don't seem to work either
Hey im getting chunk errors where i can see threw stuff it didnt happen on my old computer but does on my new computer ive tried different versions of optifine and it still does the same think ive even tried installing cleam .minecrafts plenty of times ive tried with texture packs and wtihout/default textures. My computer specs are a i5 proccer 8 gb of ram nvidia GT 640 and i have a 1 terabyte hard drive please help

I didn't have the problem until I installed the newer versions of Optifine, however I've not thought about updating video drivers.. I'll do that, now, then get back to you.

OptiFine_1.4.6_HD_U_D2 is causing my water&lava to not update/flow
I am having the same problems with D3 and C3 (ultra). Seems to only be a problem on single-player - water and lava does not flow (minecraft 1.4.7). When I joined a server water/lava flowed fine. I know its optifine because when turned off water/lava does flow fine.
You guys are wrong. I only get this issue when i use this mod its not a vanilla minecraft issue i only get this error with this mod and when i dont use vannila this is the only mod in my jar more proof is it some problem with Graphics card capability?
When using optifine with 64bit java my game is having extreme lag (3fps), even on the start menu, when using 32bit there is no problem, I had this problem on a different pc some time ago and found a solution, but now I cant find a solution anymore...does anyone know how to solve this? I am using a 64bit system
SOLVED: if you are using a nvidia graphics card, be sure to add javaw to the list in your nvidia config program

I get this issue too sometimes but you can fix it by updating the chunk.

I think the problem seems to come from the fact that Optfines latest releases are made to run on Forge version 6.6.0.518...and I think FTB has most of its packs if not all on 6.6.0.515. I'm not 100 % sure if this is the sole problem but if you read all of the posts where you download Optifine it clearly states that the versions up for download are "not compatible with Forge #506-516". Maybe try downloading one from the older versions spoiler though I haven't tried so I couldn't give you results. I saw the latest "older version" should work with 499. Might work with some versions after it idk.
Well Standard B6 Optifine just gets me stuck at building terrain so I figure we either have to wait for FTB to update their forge versions or we wait for Optifine to tailor make a version for ftb... Optifine is surely an important mod especially when servers tend to be so laggy on ftb.

i got the same problem both with mindcrack and direwolf pack. tried the standard version and ultra version. also tried reinstalling both the mod packs and optifine. also was messing around a bit with ingame optifine settings. but the problem is still there ... the blocks dont seem to be be updated properly in some way ... i dont know
I am also having this problem with doors, gates, etc.
Ive nailed down the root of my optifine related crashes and its because of an incompatibily with "wisp" entities in Thaumcraft3. Everything is going just fine until I see one, and then things go haywire. The effects arent immediately apparent unless I try to exit the game-and when I return (or just continue playing after the intial wisp sighting and a few minutes later...) the gui textures go missing. The only way to fix it is to go into peaceful mode, quit the game and crash as usual then restart.
What's going to happen when 1.5 comes out? Rewritten rendering, new lighting, textures completely redone. Will this mod be redone from scratch? Conflicts will likely be massive with the new version.

So at a complete loss, I reinstalled C3 standard, and this time deleted the optifine config file so all the settings would revert to defaults. And guess what? No more crashes. WTF? The only things different in the two options settings is the older one had lines about antialiasing and anitropic filtering which I can only assume was a leftover from trying one of the ultra versions since neither of those things are in standard.
using optifine HD U C3 and MCF #518 on 1.4.7. I've found a bit of a bug, I think. broken blocks aren't rendering, mobs will stop rendering once in a while (really fun with creepers). Farming crops causes huge lag spikes, I end up missing every 4th placement of wheat/carrot/potato. water blocks don't render filling in. using JSLegacy TP. edit, it seems only the blovck I touch renders. built a portal to the nether and only one block of portal appears, crafted an infusion alter, only one block was textured.

This is true. unless you turn 3d items off, then i think its ok.

Added check to avoid the problem, available in next version.
To fix it either set AA/AF in the graphics control panel to "Application controlled" or enable AA/AF in OptiFine.
