here's the map I've had it the worst, because it has a lot of signs. If I walk to a new area, I suddenly get a spam of 20ish messages about signs not found, and their coordinates. As said before, relogging makes the signs in the immediate area work, but does not fix the problem. The signs effected are there, but appear blank. This is most noticeable at the victory monument and surrounding area (a steel looking tower marked by one of the beacons)
It's unrelated to the custom texture pack or the individual map, because I've experienced this issue in other maps, it's unique to 1.4.6, and I've had it in both ultra A3 and the version before it.

Hey, I've just been having a slight issue, I wanted to make custom biome colors for cattails I'm making for a Texture Pack- like lighter in desert biomes, greener in forest, etc. It works for the most part, however, in the swamp biome the cattails simply appear white, just like I made them in textures.png. I have custom colors and swamp colors turned on in Video Settings -> Quality. I did find out, however, that the swamp colors work when I turn off "Smooth Biomes", however that's not a very reasonable solution, since then biome borders just look plain ugly. If you could find out the problem and the solution, it would be much appreciated.
Oh, also, I'm using Ultra. I haven't tried the others yet.
I've had to remove Optifine because of an odd (rendering?) glitch where, when I activate redstone, blocks will become invisible in much the same way typical chunk errors do.
Those three occurred with the use of a 3x3 piston door, which caused this invisibility effect to flicker and then end in this manner. I also got this problem with pressure plates, fence gates and furnaces, so it seems to happen with any kind of block update. My Java and GPU driver were up to date, and I had no other mods installed. If you need any more information, let me know and I'll try to oblige. Thanks for reading.

maybe you can fix the invisible with install the other mod.
or just continue change the vision.
another thing.
maybe you need to temporary remove the new feature from D4 that cause the invisible chunk.
and make sure that the new feature will not cause problem.
I'm having a little problem. Whenever I put my view distance to extreme, minecraft maximizes my Cpu load and crashes. I know that I can run this perfectly. Furthermore, I see blank holes in the ground after the update where the singleplayer runs on lan.

I really want to use this because of features like zoom, texture pack changing in game, better stuff, CTM and so on. (MCpatcher doesn't have all of it). But optifine decreases my fps to like 15 even though (especially after 1.4.6) I was having a nice 30 fps with no mods installed. And most importantly, that is so far from "stable and smooth fps" that optifine promises. My fps jumps around from 20 to like 5 and the result is terrible.
I am not that dump, I tried messing around with settings a lot. Nothing helps.

(PC is not that trash either for minecraft)

Ok the performance still sucks, it very rarely gets to 25 fps or a little more, but the fps is still very unstable (down to 15 usually), laggy, lots of shuttering. And all of this is much better, well actually it runs almost perfectly WITHOUT optifine. (Tried both ultra and standart). I could live with MCpatcher I guess but there are still many great features I want from optifine but I simply can't play with it.
and even worse is that my friend is getting 100 fps with ease, even though his PC is a little worse than mine.
No other word than "epic" can describe this mod.
Was able to play minecraft with a constant 60 + fps on short render with a piece of gma 4500mhd. + lots of goin on ( quarries, auto sorting systems, steve's carts farming, wood cutting, turtle digging , etc. )
Hello! I am a texturepack drawer trying to make use of all the handy features optifine comes with and I have some simple questions to ask.
First: I am trying to utilize custom colors as good as I can, and I can make any feature related to the misc folder to work, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to use the color.properties file. I am humbly wondering if someone could share an actual file as an example? the one in the official description is very vague to say the least, maybe some screenshots could work showing how it should be placed, named and structured? Adding this to the official description would really help all those who have the visualization, but not the means to give it form.
Second: a feature I have had in mind was this: would it be possible to somehow make optifine support a high-res skin for the player? Maybe by adding a sorrectly shaped png with a certain name to the minecraft folder makes optifine utilize this png as a second skin visible only to optifine users? there is such a large user-base for this mod that it could really be worth it for people wanting high-res skins. The idea is that the skin would only be visible to optifine or perhaps also modloader users, while for all other players only the regular skin is visible?
Thirdly I would just like to thank you for such a wonderful mod as this is. I am quite negatively viewing client-side mods for their limiting possibilities to play with other players, but this mod creates the opposite effect! Never have texture editing been so much fun! When I hold a BuildCraft pipe, Railcraft tank block and other random blocks, the log get's filled with the following errors (and causes a ton of lag). No item is rendered in my hand but I can still place the block fine. It also appears fine in my inventory. Also, if another player who has OptiFine installed looks at the player holding the pipe or other block, they also get their logs filled with the error.

Removing OptiFine and the problem goes away.
Edit: A3 Ultra doesn't have this problem.
OptiFine supports the "repeat" method of Extended CTM.
Nice bug, fixed in next version.
