Im scared to download this. Which one should I download? Im think about choosing between classic and smooth, the last one (strongest one) looks like my dual processor can't control. It uses multi-core, but i dont think 2 is enough:( someone plz help me on choosing which is best for my computer. Im scared because my computer might break. It isn't built for extreme gaming, just a regular dell desktop
Was so fighting the urge to respond to this. I will try to be nice about it.
A Duel-Core processor IS a Multi-Core processor.
Duel-Core means your processor has more than one (or "multiple") cores. Specifically, 2 cores in the case of a duel-core processor.
Multi-core is a more generic term meaning (you guessed it) "multiple cores." That means there is more than 1 core (just like a duel-core processor) but can have even more cores than the 2 available in a duel-core processor.
As an example, both something like "duel-core" (having 2 cores) and "quad-core" (having 4 cores) processors are "multi-core" processors.
The "multi-threaded" edition is designed to try and make use of a processor with more than one core (a "multi-core" processor) by using the second core in the processor. This means that it tries to let one of the cores process some of the data while making use of another core to process different data at the same time. Unfortunately, as of my writing this, it will only take advantage of the second core at this time even if there are more cores available in your processor. It should also be noted that this one should also work on a single-core processor but without the added advantage of sharing the processing load to another core on your processor. However, sp614x has included other editions that should work for you even if this one gives you a problem.
Now, here's the kicker. The listing for the multi-threaded additional specifically states that it "uses the second core on a multi-core processor."
Unfortunately, at the time of writing this, the multi-threaded edition is still an older Version "A" rather than the latest "C1" at this time.
And, you shouldn't be scared to try it out as long as you obey the mantra of backing up your minecraft.jar file first and also, more importantly, your game saves. As long as you do that, you can always revert back to how things were before you tried out not just this mod but any mod.

B and C versions are Forge compatible, A is not.
The MT is still on A and is not compatible.
The compatibility note shows the compatibility of the base Classic version. The extended S and MT may differ, check their version history.
This might be a bit pedantic, but perhaps you should modify the OP a bit. For instance the B and B1 versions say "Forge Compatible". That makes it look like there is something special about those versions. You should have the B version say "Added Forge Compatibility" which implies it is true for that version and all later versions.
Then under "Compatibility with other mods", you should say "B versions and later are compatible with Forge", because it IS a little confusing since that section seems to be intended to apply to all the versions of Optifine before it. That or move that section up to the are where the classic version is discussed so it is clear what it is talking about.
Could you maybe try the classic C version and see if what happens?
I'm using the LSOD fix of C and I crash when an HD texture pack is loaded, and my mods are very similar to your's.
Do you still want me to check it out? I know it was a couple days ago now. I was very busy with my grandmother being in the hospital before and didn't have time to look into it.
Someone already said this. That isn't a bug. Minecraft has always done that.
no it hasn't i have been playing minecraft since alpha and i have never seen that in my whole minecraft life before :dry.gif: incase you mean when your crosshair chages colour?
Anyway, i figured out how to fix that bug by switching over to the fancy render setting :smile.gif:
When I play Minecraft with Optifine C1 and I select an option it starts replaying the click sound. What is wrong? I didn't have any other mods installed.
I've been using optifine 1.8.1 for a while now and it helped a lot. However, lately it has been messing up the sound so it keeps repeating the click sound like a million times and its all laggy. the video is still smooth though...
Is a random disappearing of random little chunks of world aa bug but they reappear when I place a block into the invisible part.
I'm using Optifine 1.8.1 HD MT A.
Please Help!
MT version does not play nice with some graphics cards. Use Smooth or Classic, until it's fixed.
Same here, except i try to walk forward and it keeps walking and stops after 5 seconds.
Stuck input. Enable smooth input in the option.
When you put your reticule over a mob the gui/hud brightens up.

He should try updating his graphic card drivers first. And, perhaps different graphics settings.

You probably have AA, AF or mipmaps forced in the graphics driver control panel.
