Hi everybody!

My first post on Minecraft forums, even if I lurk here since a couple of months.

I have a question regarding Optifine and my Minecraft settings in order to try to squeeze the best of both in terms of FPS. But first, here's the details :

* My rig :

- Processor Intel Dualcore @ 3,6 GHz
- 4 Gb RAM
- Leadtek GeForce GTX 280
- Java JRE 7 up to date
- up-to-date java gaming libraries.

* My Minecraft set up :

- Minecraft (duh! :biggrin.gif: )
- Optifine latest build in single core edition
- Sphax PureBD texture pack 128x128 or 256x256
- Water Shader 4d + Optifine and Water shader latest compatibility patch
- Millenaire + its add-on Imaginations
- Connected Textures

I followed the install process of each of those elements to the letter. Minecraft works fine. BUT... I'm getting 20-25 FPS at best, sometimes it drops to 2-3 and I still have some nasty lag spikes... I do know that with these heavy HD textures and Millenaire mod, I can't expect to reach 100~FPS :tongue.gif: but still, is there a way to improve my FPS, without sacrificing too much of the visual aspect?

In other terms, given my configuration, what would be the best settings for Minecraft/Optifine?

just noticed the lighting issues are fine in minecraft 1.8.1(the ones with signs and chests)

but i just installed optifine again(since forge compatibility =D) and loving it, makes it much easier to build and is more enjoyable, thanks. but... it causes the lighting glitch which idk what is causing it... but idk why it disturbs me.

just pointing it out and anyone know what causes it and if it is a bug?

OK I have Optimine installed and I am getting these all around? (see picture)(no other mods installed)(Default Textures) Also this is not multi-player its on single player. What Do I need to do to fix it? Also frame rates are up but drop down to 0-2 when fighting and mobs in water.

If you need computer specs or Minecraft settings lmk I can get that. But other than that you guys have done a great job at this mod

Does this work with spoutcraft? And I still cannot get the download links to work.

I installed spoutcraft, what a piece of crap, they say they have optifine built-in, which they do but they messed with everything. I just wanted to test spout on my Craftbukkit server, never again, not worth the bandwidth it *supposedly* saves. My game runs worse than ever. Only upside for me is native no zombemod fly.

Wish I could download it. XD I have an old rig. I just get ad page after ad page after ad page on ether link. :sad.gif:

Spoutcraft does NOT have an official OptiFine built in.
They have taken an older version without permission and merged it halfway, it is not expected to work this way.
I contacted the devs and they promised to take the half-merged OptiFine out and stop claiming that it is integrated.

Personally I am using a very old ATI Radeon 9600 with the Smooth version of Optifine. It might be worth you trying the classic version of Optifine as I don't remember having any see through patches when I did have that installed.

Notably for me it gets worse the longer the game is running, every hour or so I do a complete shut down which temporarily helps. Also changing render distance will often sort out the invisible patch yet unfortunately create more elsewhere.

It could be "Advanced OpenGL", it does not work correctly on some ATI cards.

Wow this is awesome, with my sisters 13inch mac book pro i normally got 30-50 cant get more then 60 FPS but after i installed this mod its 100+ fps with graphics on fast, fog on normal, and with fancy graphics i get 90+ fps cant get lower then 80. this rocks.

I use to be able to get 90+ fps on my mac books and now for no reason im getting 20 fps, I can't use optifine now, I have to use optimine.

I have an GeForce 8200M G on my parent's laptop and it is a Compaq Presario CQ60 Notebook PC.

Other than that will MC run on older systems? (like 2k)

A question to sp614x: Can you tell us what plans, if any, you have for compatibility with the new MCPatcher custom terrain/items animations, or with Necrowizzard's water shader mod?

Custom terrain and item animations will probably be added, also the random mobs.
Support for the WaterShader is not planned, it is quite heavy and also does not like my graphic card.

Patch/ Merge for the latest optifine version (B1) to work with the water shaders mod:

any chance of an option to remove the void particles? they make me lag really bad....

Amazing! I am able to get 90-100 FPS on far render distance now! My favorite, most useful mod

same but it only happens to me on multithreaded, except... differently... i click any thing (left or right) and everything flickers or goes totally invisible, also in any optifine version, things such as vines, signs and even my block selection outline seems to flicker when alot is loaded in the scene but this doesnt happen in vanilla

I still get Lag on Optifine, but on older versions of Minecraft when I used Optimine, I had 30-50 fps, and now I use Optifine and I get 10-20 fps. Rarely 40-70 fps. I'm gonna try using Optimine.
