No improvement what so ever after using optifine with lowest settings?
my fps is still terrible compared to without optifine now, however I notice if i stand in the same spot for a while it fixed, something to do with chunk loading in this RC version its loading chunks too slow!
EDIT unrelated to modloader too, its the same for me either way
Okay well using the Pre-1.8.1 Optifine, I get some more FPS on a 32x32 texture pack but I still lag. I'm waiting for the final release so I can use the MultiThread version.
Okay when im walking around its loading the map blah blah, my fps drops as low at 15 and lower. when im standing still my fps is higher than vanilla after it loads a second.
Something to do with chunks loading with smooth lighting its not working right!
EDIT NO MCPATCHER AT ALL I dont have it dont need it
Okay I noticed even with smooth lighting off and all other settings off my fps is still much lower walking around than vanilla. Also feels choppy, btw im not using McPatcher or anything else. just trying with and without modloader installed.
Edit I installed modloader first like the posts said to do, is that guy right to install it after?
Turn animations to default settings, preloaded chunks off, and chunk updates 1?
Animations default sounds odd, but I remember in 1.7, having them off actually lowered my FPS a good bit.
can try installing it after, shouldn't hurt.
no change my fps is still worse, ive never had this with optifine or vanilla before. but with this RC is happening.
I tried both ways neither helped installing modloader after made it worse also so i quickly deleted that one
Thanks :biggrin.gif: I am waiting for the official release of OptiFine 1.8.1, this actually boost my fps from 24 to 40+ If I am looking at a block it is 60+ :biggrin.gif: Thank you very much, I can now make a let's play without lagging.
I also notice odd lighting with and without smooth lighting on in optifine, the sun is up fully and there are many areas that are dark now, in vanilla they are lit. Now its like its night time for them. AND ITS DAY
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
DON'T JUDGE ME! MY "EZZ" Key broke I cant type for crap now!!!!!!
I have installed the latest Optifine 1.8.1! :smile.gif: It increases my fps 100%! From around 60fps into 120-150fps! Thanks a lot man! :Diamond:!!!!!!!

Same here, though I can't remember what setting I messed with to get this to happen. The entire landscape, sans sky, turned dark for me despite it being daytime.
I was getting about 50-60 fps on vanilla with smooth lighting enabled (disabling smooth lighting in either case didn't seem to help my framerate much if at all). On the release candidate I'm managing about 30 with the fastest graphics settings.
While recording with Bandicam on vanilla I could almost manage 24fps (primarily the reason I've been looking forward to OptiFine - to record videos). Recording with the release candidate sticks me at around 15fps.
I noticed that fps drops significantly when smooth lighting is any value besides OFF. So I think that why modloader helps performance is because of that lighting stuff. sp614x will probably release the godly better lighting version so I'll stick with the blocky lighting.

I was using a fresh install AND an new install of modloader, neither worked.
EDIT noticed I had smooth lighting still on, optifine with smooth lighting on cuts my fps down way below vanilla.

Thats the leading cause of external hemorrhoids.

Now I can see why your parents won't let you buy a new pc. Good luck in life bro!

I AM GETTING AN ALIENWARE IF I GET STRAIGHT A!!
I lag less in vanilla with smooth lighting on than without it with this RC

'Elmer Fudd Blues' Still tragically lethal.
yes, this works
install optifine THEN modloader
or MCPatcher w/o HD features then optifine then modloader
