Any chance we'll see SMAA implemented in the near future? FXAA is dandy and all, but when effectively identically performing, but better looking solutions exist, we may as well, right?
I agree that better AA methods should be looked into, but remember that FXAA is common because it's easy to implement and won't cause issues/bugs for other unrelated things.

Question: anyone else experiencing cape issues when trying to change the cape design? I swear I put all my minecraft login information on the cape page, yet it still says it's incorrect. Yet, I went to Minecraft.net (the official site) & I logged in just fine. Perhaps Optifine's site is experiencing problems regarding that page?
Edit: resolved after waiting a few hours, playing Hypixel.
I'm making custom models and renders for my entities. Sometimes they use texture, sometimes they use pure color (like GlStateManager.color((float) r, (float) g, (float) b, (float) a))
The models render really well, with color or texture, if there is no shader running.
But when GLSL shader is on and I use pure color to render, they either become tinted, noised, and sometimes even invisible.
Does anyone know why it happens?
This is rendering ok, pure color, no shader
These are having problems with pure color rendering, shader on.
The reason for this is likely the method by which your shaderpack mixes colors. I say this because some seem to still be casting shadows as well. The solution is probably just to texture them with 1 pixel textures. You should do this anyways just in case anything refers to the models texture color instead of actual color.

This is probably due to a custom vertex format.
The shaders are only compatible with the vertex formats ITEM and BLOCK. If you use one of them (probably ITEM), the rendering should work.
Thanks for the useful information and the invite to your forum. I'm sure this will also be useful for others who come looking for help.
At this stage I think it's likely that the resource packs are as they should be (going by all available information on how to do it and other packs), and that the culprit is my installation of Optifine or Minecraft. Even though I have tried different versions of Optifine and Minecraft I haven't ruled out that I could be making the same mistake each time somewhere. Just a matter of figuring out where. Is there anything I could post like a log or something that could be looked at by someone that might reveal clues to why custom colors is only partially working on my installation? Or something else of use?
Resource pack download link?
What is currently not working?
Some of the custom colours are not working. Foliage and grass colour works, but sky0, fog0, birch, pine, water, underwater all don't.
The John Smith Legacy packs have custom colours for all of those and more including all the leaves, water, foliage and grass.
All colours are biome dependent (darker water in the swamp, lighter grass in the desert etc..), they are all using the newest Grid method for the colours, this is a lot more accurate and more configurable compared to the older method.
May be worth a look as the pack is well laid out with commented code.
Also the OptiFine github has all the properties files and lots of other helpful documents for the resource pack authors.
I try to make my own resourcepack, but have a problem with connected textures. Help me, please!
I want to change grass texture, for example. It consist of 16 parts (0-15.png), so I create grass_top.properties with text:
This bug (or what?) still present in new versions of optifine. When I load an old version of Minecraft 1.7.10 with OptiFine, grass look like I planned:
I'm getting a crash. I have the optifine 1.8.9 HD version that goes in the Mods folder. I have the liteloader installed over forge, and the lite loader mods I have are the world downloader, zans minimap, tabbychat2 and a dependency needed for tabbychat called mod-mnm-utils-1.1.1-mc1.8.9-mc1.8.9. I also have just enough items but thats doesn't seem to be the problem. When i went through the mods and took every single one of them out, it turns out that having the dependency ALONG with Optifine causes the game to freeze on a white screen, then crashing. Please help because i changed nothing between yesterday and today and it was working yesterday.
EDIT- SOLVED- Apparently somehow JVM arguments where enabled and I was being restricted to only 1 gb of ram, Turning off the JVM arguments fixed the problem

Long story short, I'm having issues with shaders on 1.10.2. Using KoP v1.10 V1 256 Creativo as my resource pack. Here's what happens when I turn them on *SEUS-v10.1-Ultra as well as SEUS-v10.2-Preview-1-Ultra*:
v10.1-Ultra gives the error: [Shaders] Error: Invalid program "composite1" and v10.2-Preview-1-Ultra gives the exact same error, only "composite2". Any idea why this is happening? Is there a way to fix this? Things are perfectly fine with the shaders turned off.
I try to make my own resourcepack, but have a problem with connected textures. Help me, please!

So, how to fix repeat method in a new version of OptiFine? Sory about my english. Thank you.
In Minecraft 1.8 and newer the grass is using random rotated models. Connected Textures is replacing the texture, but not changing the rotation.
To fix it you have to replace the grass model with a model without variants as it was before 1.8.

Yea i did what you said, it works but i'm just reluctant to do it because it is much slower than the normal way.
Thanks though

Run the program as administrator, make sure nothing else is open, and you have access to Minecraft's install folder.
Your issue;
Access was denied to minecraft's folder by the OS. This is completely unrelated to Optifine.

Cool Mod, helps Minecraft on low-end computers,
but it's good for some shaders and nicer graphics too!

Two Asus GTX 980 Ti's with the latest 368.81 driver. Didn't happen with 1.9.4
SLI doesn't work with this, latest drivers broke some shader packs, and a quick search of "composite 1 error" gives an easy solution. Here's one: http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding/minecraft-mods/mods-discussion/2700282-seus-shaders-issue-fixed-solution-down-below
