Okay so I've tried to install multiple shaderpacks but the result is the same(screenshot below)
as you can see, the sun is crooked, there are no shadows, and there error messages. Is there something I did wrong? I am unsure of how to fix it, but otherwise, using the mod is fine and speeds up my game a lot, its just the shaders don't seem to show up entirely. animations show up for the shaders (ie moving grass) but the shadow effects do not.

Are you trying to run shaders on intel graphics?
Most shader packs are not compatible with intel, or very glitchy at least.

WTF, Colossus modpack on AT Launcher sent me to Optifine website to download the mod... but it's a 1.6.4 minecraft version modpack, and Optifine has apparently removed the 1.6.4 versions from their download page? Why?
EDIT: I was able to get the 1.6.4 Optifine via this forum thread, so thank you! However, there's no indication on the actual Optifine download page that the 1.6.4 version even exists anymore, there's no link to any "older versions".
I highly suggest a link be added for those playing older-version-based modpacks like Colossus.
Thanks for the information. I didn't realize that Colossus is not a new modpack, it's a very old one. It's asking me to download other older mods that do not even exist, so it's not Optifine's fault or problem, it's AT Launcher's and the fault of all these older modpacks on the various sites.
And so it goes in our "legal" world. Bah, humbug, I don't like lawyers at all.
hello, all. i'm playing minez atm on 1.8.9 with optifine installed. Is there still the zoom feature? cannot find it in the controls
In default OptiFine, zoom is the 'C' key. It's been as such, for as long as I can recall; specifically, because I bind my chat key to 'C', so I have to rebind zoom to something else.

My current PC:
• Ryzen 9 3900x @4.2GHz
• 64GB DDR4 @3200MHz
• MSI RTX 2080 Ti Gaming X Trio
• 2TB NVMe SSD
• 6TB in HDD space
• Four monitors at 4k
Method "horizontal" does not work for top and bottom, as there are two horizontal directions - X and Z.
Should the textures be connected in X or in Z direction?
If you are aiming to make Optifine work like MCPatcher: It should. Despite I agree it sounds weird to enable both methods for horizontal surfaces, but MCPatcher supports "vertical" and "horizontal" methods for sides and top/bottom faces.
For comparison: image 1 was taken with MCPatcher, image 2 with Optifine. Please ignore the quartz pillars on the center-right (white blocks with a windmill shape, they glitched up in MCPatcher, and Optifine conveniently ignored my screwy properties file and rendered them right).
In MCPatcher: I like to use either "vertical" and "horizontal" methods to create sort of laminate flooring and paths that require just 4 png images (instead of 46).
The "horizontal+vertical" method is good to create beams (1x1xN), as you can see in the structure near the top-left corner of the image 1. This works pretty well for vertical faces, but doesn't work for horizontal surfaces such as paths, for the 2nd method will work only in a "column" fashion (Image 3), and once you build a flat surface the 1st method overrides the 2nd (Image 4).

Well I remember it being left control for a long time and ever since there is a sprint key it changed into 'C'.

Hey!
I have a suggestion for the Shader Configuration.
It would be awesome if there was a way to type in custom values ingame.
like you select a tab, for example "Water_Wave_Height", and a bar pops up and you can type in a value.

Would you mind if I use this mod in a public modpack that I use on YouTube? I am not trying to advert anything so for links please respond to me.
Slider?
when I use optifine I have a problem with the render of certain subjects. how can I fix it?
Why are these items lying on the ground, mod?
This happens to me too, even without mods. Some blocks (e.g. Stained Glass Panes) have discolored sides and edges.
no, i mean a field where you can enter a number
