A long time ago you were able to use Random Mobs for the default steve skin. You put them in assets/minecraft/mcpatcher/mob/ as steve1.png, steve2.png and so on. This stopped working at some point. It still does not work.

Try rename
steve1png, steve.2 png
to
steve2.png, steve3.png
in
..\assets\minecraft\mcpatcher\mob\.
I have (for example)
pig.png
in
..\assets\minecraft\textures\entity\
pig2.png, pig3.png
in
..\assets\minecraft\mcpatcher\mob\
and all is OK, all three pigs there are in game.

Using Random Mob textures for players is currently not possible.
If was probably working before the player code was split from the rest of the mobs (around 1.6).
Hello. My game fails to start when I play. All I have installed is the latest version of Forge (#1577) , Optifine (ultra), and MC. I dragged the Optifine jar into the mods folder, and then booted normally. I don't use any special launcher. Forge works fine on its own. Here's the log:

Sorry if this has already been brought up, but I searched both with the forum search and just on Google and I can't find anything.
This is on Minecraft 1.8.8 and the latest Optifine HD G7. Intel i5-2500K CPU, Radeon 6850 GPU, 8GB RAM, SSD.
Optifine isn't working right with animated terrain textures for me. The main block I noticed it on is Prismarine (rough), but as far as I can tell it's the case with any animated terrain texture (not water/lava/etc., those work fine). The more I dig into it, the more confused I get. There seems to be two separate issues. One relating to the color interpolation of Prismarine, and one relating to general animated textures. Or maybe I'm just confused and these are the same issue.
As for Prismarine, It was too fast to see what exactly was happening, so I recorded a video and went through frame by frame. I found that as it cycles through the color interpolation sequence normally but then every 15 seconds (almost exactly) it flashes to another color (but the same texture) for one frame then back to where it was in the color cycle. It's extremely distracting, but fortunately turning the Terrain Animated to OFF alleviates the flash. Of course the animation doesn't play at all so it's not ideal.
As for other animated textures, the animation seems to just play too fast. It's like a strobe instead of a cycle Or maybe it's not playing the full animation, it's hard to tell. This could just be the resource pack not complying with your implementation of animated textures, but it happens with every resource pack I have (Faithful 32x, Sphax PureBDCraft, Soartex Fanver, Invictus, Triton and more) as well as default textures, but I'm open to trying another pack to help diagnose this if you know one that should work right.
Switching to a profile for vanilla Minecraft (no Optifine), the animation plays through as it should, with both default textures as well as third party resource packs.
Please let me know if I can help diagnose this in any way.
I got an optifine cape and it was showing up fine then It stopped so I went to optifine.net and it said I had moved my cape to the account "Iannm" and i never did it

Probably someone else who knows your login name and password did it.

Testing Sphax PureBDCraft 32x with OptiFine G7 for 1.8.8.
With Anisotropic Filtering enabled the prismarine block flashes for a single frame from time to time.
The other animations are not affected. Animated glowstone, redstone block, netherrack and soulsand are OK, the speed is normal.
Without Anisotropic Filtering the prismarine animation is OK, strange.
The same effect with the default resource pack, only prismarine is affected.
Found it. This is a side effect of fixing compass and clock animation when AF is active. Fixed.
Preview OptiFine G7 for Minecraft 1.8.9 is available here.

Question about Random Mobs textures:
A long time ago you were able to use Random Mobs for the default steve skin. You put them in assets/minecraft/mcpatcher/mob/ as steve1.png, steve2.png and so on. This stopped working at some point. It still does not work.
Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong?
Try rename
steve1png, steve.2 png
to
steve2.png, steve3.png
in
..\assets\minecraft\mcpatcher\mob\.
I have (for example)
pig.png
in
..\assets\minecraft\textures\entity\
pig2.png, pig3.png
in
..\assets\minecraft\mcpatcher\mob\
and all is OK, all three pigs there are in game.
(not tested with steve)
Using Random Mob textures for players is currently not possible.
If was probably working before the player code was split from the rest of the mobs (around 1.6).
Any way to fix the fact that all the 1.7.10 versions of this mod break Mo'Creatures ambients and a lot of other mod creatures ?
Hey, folks. Quick question. Is there a file that stores my changed optifine video settings, like a config or something? Where would that be at?
I've made a modpack, and it causes some issues with framerate for a lot of people. I'd like to make a base config download available to my players.
All the Optifine-specific settings should be inside optionsof.txt in the .minecraft folder.
Thank you very much, Questwizard.
First of all , sorry for the long waiting .
I'm sorry , but i am don't understand what is that ... :/
Support Ice and Fire , This is terribly awesome !:D

What is new:
- reorganized support for block colormaps
- fixed many Custom Colors bugs
- fixed compass and clock to work when animations are OFF
- needs testingSorry if this has already been brought up, but I searched both with the forum search and just on Google and I can't find anything.
Thanks!
Hi. I recently upgraded to the latest G7 version. All blocks in creative mode now appear dark like this.
Other mod installed: Mo' Creatures.
I got an optifine cape and it was showing up fine then It stopped so I went to optifine.net and it said I had moved my cape to the account "Iannm" and i never did it
I'm using 1.8. Both of the latest releases went dark for me too. I went back to F8 to solve my problem. Forge 1450 if it matters.
TIA
Lou

Fixed.
Testing OptiFine G7 for 1.8 with Forge #1563 and Mo'Creatures 8.0.1 (latest versions).
The inventory blocks in creative mode are OK.
Too old Forge (I had exactly the same texture problem with Forge 1486. After update to Forge 1577 is all OK).
No help for the "NEI's entity ID dump" ?
Support Ice and Fire , This is terribly awesome !:D
