My own. However it should not be a problem with my texturepack as it is just a normal Connected Textures properties for the Oven Top (as i wanted them to connect)
My "furnace_top.properties" looks like this :
method=ctm
tiles=0-46
also i want to note that when put in a certain direction they do work, they just start looking wierd when put in another direction.
The .png files are all fine too.
They look like this if you want to know :
So i tested both blocks and the glass works fine in any direction. however that is because the glassblock never gets rotated but the oven does.
The Glassblock CTM is exactly like the Oven top one. (except the png's obviously.)
Here i made some tests to see what happens in each direction, the Furnace only works fine in one direction but starts bugging in all 3 other directions. http://imgur.com/IeWSWp8,7D4a0GC,tWKYtbV#0
apparently it only happens to blocks that can get rotated, this probably also includes the Dropper and the Dispenser.
EDIT : Yes, Droppers and Dispensers are included.
Currently only pillar blocks (wood, quartz, etc) are conected depending on their orientation. There is no orientation checks for ovens and dispensers. Added to TODO list.
I mean, 1.8 already increased my fps drastically, but now THIS seems like a wonder!
In 1.7.10 with Optifine I had relativiely stable fps (a little stutters but all in all decent) with a viewrange of 12 chunks.
Now I can go up to 20 chunks and beyond and still have nice fps, almost no stuttering, still smoother than in 1.7.10. At 12 chunks I get PERFECT performance, absolute smoothness, I limited my fps to 80. At 18 chunks it still runs like a charm, so smooth and so nice, I have choosen this as my viewrange.
I can view 6 chunks farther than in 1.7.10 and still have such an incredible performance, much better than in 1.7.10 with way less viewrange!
I'm speechless! You and Mojang gave me the best Minecraft experience to date! Thank you so much!

Minecraft enhanced 256x resource pack crashes 1.8.1 with Optifine saying not enough memory, but the 128x one is fine. The 256x worked fine with Optifine on 1.7.10 though.

Minecraft 1.7.10 and 1.8.1 load textures differently.
OptiFine can recognize and show more textures from the resource pack so it may use more memory.

I downloaded OptiFine_1.8.1_HD_U_B4.jar and it renders 'natural textures' which I don't like (because I can't count blocks when building and it creates weird skeleton-like patterns on Stone with my resource pack). The menu option in the Quality sub-menu is gone and I can't find it elsewhere. Moreover, in optionsof.txt there is a line ofNaturalTextures:false but it's still enabled in-game. Changing other options in the file, like ofSky do affect the game, proving that I got the right file.
How can I disable natural textures, and where did the menu option go?
Hey guys,
I'm using release 1.8.1-Optifine_HD_U_B2.
I got two question I never found an answer to (I've been googling a while...):
1. I'm playing on a MacBook, so if I read any suggestions on how to set my Optifine settings, is it the same for me or does Optifine work differently because I play on another OS? Is Optifine any different on Mac in general (for me as a user)?
2. I couldn't find the setting for Multicore, though I have found some pages that said that there is a setting called "Video Settings --> Chunk Loading" where you can switch between Standard, Smooth and Multicore. I do not have this "Chunk Loading" entry, was it removed?
And most importantly: Does the version I use support Multicore at all? Because I have not found a setting for it yet.
Thanks!
1. The settings are all in-game, so if you installed Optifine correctly, you should have them all.
2. That setting was removed in 1.8, and replaced with basically a 'always on' Multi-Core, even though the execution was horrible.

I seem to have issues with Fast Graphics leaves on all Optifine 1.8 Versions. Here are pictures running on the B4 Minecraft 1.8.1 release. Anyone know how to fix this?

Try turning "Alternate Blocks" Off. (you can find it at Options -> Video Settings -> Alternate Blocks)
Ok, I tried that. It solves the problem I described literally. However, it also removes the 'alternate textures' in my resource pack, and that's unacceptable. Now let me rephrase my question: How do I turn off natural textures without turning off alternate textures?
Thank you for answering my question And that really sucks to hear. Hopefully you can find a solution that won't compromise the other mods. I wish these so called "hacks" were still present in the minecraft community. They really made things better and more fun(for me at least anyways). Thanks again and have a nice day.
This may have been answered already, but after looking through the first 25 pages, I gave it up as a bad job and decided to ask in a post. Is this mod compatible with Forge?

Read the OP. That's all you had to do. Just read. The. O. P.
In other words, kinda with forge 1.8+ and yes with older forges.

Hmm i don't know, Random/Alternate Textures by CTM shouldn't be turned off.
or do you mean alternate textures by Block models?
What is CTM?
What I mean are the alternate textures that resource packs provide for the same block texture (sometimes also a different 3d model). For example, PureBDCraft has several textures for 'Stone' that happen to all blend together at the edges, and different 'Grass' textures, where every once in a while there are flowers slightly raised above the grass (but the block directly above grass is air). That will all be disabled when I disable 'Random Textures'.
While doing some research, I noticed PureBDCraft uses hard-coded alternate as well as rotated textures in a .json file. I acknowledge that in this case the 'random' and 'natural' are linked, because they all appear in the same list of 'variants'. However, older kinds of resource packs, even those fully compatible with 1.8.1, like 'faithful32pack', the 'Alternate Blocks' setting does in fact display rotated/mirrored versions that are not in the pack itself.
They used to be two different options. I like to disable the automatically rotated/mirrored textures while enabling alternate textures in the packs. Currently this doesn't seem possible. I suggest you add an option to override the 'Alternate Blocks' setting added in MC1.8.1. by leaving alternatives on but turning automatically generated rotated/mirrored versions off.
yes .json are part of Blocks models (i think.)
And i haven't looked into Block models yet so i know nothing about them :/
In fact you don't have to know anything about json files at all to fix this in OptiFine. All you need to know is that somewhere in the MC code there is a branch where one path leads to a selection among variants and another path leads to generating rotated/mirrored version of the sole variant. It's after that branch that I like to see a conditional, based on a menu option. The current 'Alternate Blocks' option is a conditional before this branch.
You can check if glass blocks are connecting properly on top and if they are OK, then compare the connected glass textures and oven textures.
Currently only pillar blocks (wood, quartz, etc) are conected depending on their orientation. There is no orientation checks for ovens and dispensers. Added to TODO list.

A double resolution texture pack that stays faithful to the original Minecraft textures.
1. The settings are all in-game, so if you installed Optifine correctly, you should have them all.
2. That setting was removed in 1.8, and replaced with basically a 'always on' Multi-Core, even though the execution was horrible.
P.S. 1.8.1_HD_B4 is out, fixes some bugs.
