Welp it appears Optifine once again makes the chests from Iron chest mod start acting funny. Really wish this would be fixed it's very annoying to see the chests randomly rotating. Or when opening the chests to see the chest opening and closing all on it's own while looking at the inventory.
The latest update, B4 for 1.4.6/7, seems to have fixed my "unable to locate sign" problem. After upgrading OF, I am now unable to reproduce the problem.
I'm not sure if the fix was intentional or not, but whatever the case well done!
Hi I have a Nividia GTX 680 graphic card and my problem is that Optifine is not letting me change my Anti-Analyzing and Anisotropic-Filter setting to any value beside off.
I even tried to manually change the setting in the optionsof.txt but It resets itself every-time a world is loaded or I enter the quality section of the video setting where these option buttons lie.
Edit: Also Better Snow is behaving in the same way

only <10% increase, guess my pc is too powerful. ~85fps @ 1600x1200 w/ everything enabled and Far distance. (Was ~80fps) When I fly far above dense woods, the increase becomes much more noticable.
I can't work without this mod anymore. Switching texture packs without disconnecting and the extra options (especially zoom, hd textures and fog) are indispensable!
Can someone please direct me how to download this? Whenever I click skip ad on adf.ly it just redirects me to the optifine website and from there I go to downloads, click the download button for the version I want, and it gives me adf.ly which after clicking skip ad directs me back to the optifine website again and I just keep going in this loop until I give up.
Any and all help is appreciated.
Edit: I have downloaded and installed OptiFine, but now I have run into another problem: When I try to load a world, it says "Downloading Terrain", loads the world, and then shortly after freezing gives me a memory error with Java. This is not a problem with PC specs as I can run Crysis 2 with DX11 and high res textures at 100+ fps. Another note: While it is downloading terrain and freezing the game, my CPU usage goes up to 90%. This sounds serious to me, because Crysis doesn't even take up 20%.
I just tested minecraft with no mods besides Optifine and Modloader. It seems either this combination or one of them is making the noise in the menu.
EDIT: No speakers plugged in you say? That is very odd! I can also confirm this, although if I plug in my speakers the noise also comes from there. The other EEEE noise must be coming from either the system speaker or possibly coil whine from the graphics card. If it is the noise from the graphics card this could be damaging to the system.
EDIT: Odd, I removed the mods but the noise persists. The first time I noticed the noise was right after installing both of them.
EDIT: I completely removed minecraft and re-downloaded it. The noise is gone, so it must have been a problem from one of the mods. They were the only ones I have tried. I will test them each individually to try to reproduce the problem.
EDIT: I was able to reproduce the problem by installing modloader, then optifine. I then created a new world and changed my optifine settings to MAX FPS. After doing that I was getting around 250fps in game. I went back to the main menu and the noise was there in the Multiplayer and Singleplayer sections. When I changed the Max FPS back to 120 FPS the noise was gone. -I then tried again without modloader and it seems the noise comes from only Optifine's Max FPS setting.
I think a way to fix this could be to make the FPS settings only change for in game. Not the menu, as that is the only time I ever hear the noise. Probably because on Max FPS the limit is completely removed and in the menu it could be giving me insane FPS and working the crap out of my card.
Thanks for the great mod, but you might want to take a look at this. http://www.minecraft...se/page__st__20
I'll be using 190 FPS until this gets fixed, if it ever does.
If your computer starts making funny non-speaker noises because of a program running on it, then it has some hardware problems.

The only reason it makes a noise is when the FPS goes to 1800 on the menu. With every setting other than Max FPS the menu is limited to 36. Isn't that a problem? (The noise comes through speakers also and the clock speeds sky rocket)
This is what is happenig
I have a Nivdia GTX680 Evaga 2gb FTW edition
When I click the:
-Better Snow
-Anti-analyzing
-Anisotropic Filter
Nothing happens, It remains in the off position
In my Nividia control panel is set to the "max" (I will give you a picture if you need it)
I do have these setting specifically set in my Nividia control pannel to the maximum 16x but I do see the effects in game (for obvious reasons)
Threaded Optimization is disable
Are these features disable in HD U B4?
Am I doing something wrong?
Is 1 option affecting another?
Edit: I see the problem now. It was GLSL Shaders mod causing this lockup of these componet. I applogize for the trouble.
These forums are dumb and break my links. I'm bubbleawsome on steam too.

A double resolution texture pack that stays faithful to the original Minecraft textures.
There may be several javaw-s installed, for example 32bit and 64bit.
Depending how you run the game it might use java.exe, which mine does.
Any and all help is appreciated.

I'm playing on an Alienware Mx11 R2, with a GeForce GT 335M. No matter what settings I change on optifine, chunks will flicker.
They still have physics, so I can still walk on the chunks, but their graphics flicker all over and it hurts my eyes to look at it, quite literally.
I'm using the most recent Forge 6.6.0 497.
