1.4.6 Optifine seems to cause Minecraft to crash for me whenever I hit escape or the game is otherwise interrupted. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and/or knows a solution for this.
Minecraft has crashed!

HELP!! I love optifine and how much it has improved my fps when running minecraft on my HP netbook but since the 1.4.6 update, everytime I install optifine whether with forge or without my worlds wont load, they freeze at Downloading World the last loading stage before being in a world, this is with all worlds new or old. I am using the mods NEI, ExtrabiomesXL, Armor movement mod, and Millenaire. These mods have not conflicted with optifine before and I have tried both the Ultra A2 and the Standard A3 pre-release, both with the same results. HELP PLEASE!!! (note- not using magic launcher or the installer for millenaire I am manually installing them with 7-zip "they are all installed correctly")
TL;DR - Optifine freezes my loading worlds at Downloading World, multiple mods installed all compatible with optifine until 1.4.6 builds

TL;DR - Optifine freezes my loading worlds at Downloading World, multiple mods installed all compatible with optifine until 1.4.6 builds
Issue. using magicloader 1.0, the latest optifine download directly from the links provided in this thread, and minecraft 1.4.6. Whenever I try to create or log into a pre-existing world, I get the message "downloading terrain" and it just stays there. I tried keeping the thing on over night to see if that would do anything, and it didn't. I'm running Windows 8, using an AMD FX-8150 processor clocked at 3.6 ghz if I remember correctly (it might be slightly higher), an nvdia gtx 580 with 3 gb dedicated vram, and 16 gigs of RAM. I pretty much have the settings list for optifine maxed out because I should be able to max it out without blinking. Anyone know what's going on and how to fix it? I'll admit I didn't look through all 1344 pages, but I did look through a bit of backlog (about 10 pages worth) and I didn't see mention of this particular issue.
I'm running the same setup, and have the same problem, but after a while the screen says "Shutting down internal server" and then hangs there.
Maybe magic launcher is the problem...
So at this point we appear to have three users (myself included) within a one or two day period all reporting basically the same issue, but as of yet no suggestions as to what to DO about it. Anyone have ANY ideas whatsoever? I at least don't mind a light amount of "do it yourself" work, but I just don't have any idea what to do... not trying to be a ***** about this, and I'm quite grateful that the mod exists in the first place, but I've had multiple peeps tell me that using optifine is basically essential for getting the best minecraft experience, and I'd really like to try it out for myself.
For what it's worth, I bought the game at christmas, so the 1.4.6 build was the first one installed on my system, and I did go through and update the light java gaming library files like the original post reccomends, and I already had the latest 64 bit version of java installed. Oh, and I am not attempting to run any mods except for optifine. I don't know if any of that tells anyone anything, and I kinda doubt it does, honestly, but I'm just grasping at straws here trying to figure out something to tell you peeps that could help you out. I'd send you an error report but the game isn't actually reporting an error. it just says it's downloading textures even though I'm on a single player server when I try to load up a world and then hanging there.
So once again, any idea this side of "replace your motherboard with swiss cheese" will be appreciated. I just don't know where to start even.
as far as i know the server and the client share a lot of code thats why the mods are now universal insted of client/server
thats why may be the multithreading code used in optifine can be used in the server
Optifine is changing how the client renders. So unless you're thinking of something I don't understand, it can't be server-side.
Equally, trying to impose 50 client's worth of work on the server would ruin large servers -- the CPU load -- even if it could be done -- would bring the server to a standstill.

... did I really ask that?

You can move the second cape to another username, send me a PM with the details to fix it.
There is a preview for Standard that is quite stable.

TL;DR - Optifine freezes my loading worlds at Downloading World, multiple mods installed all compatible with optifine until 1.4.6 builds

So once again, any idea this side of "replace your motherboard with swiss cheese" will be appreciated. I just don't know where to start even.
Ever since 1.4.6, I've been getting a weird issue with chunks going invisible. It only happens on "not" normal maps or very low block count areas.
I have this problem in flat maps and maps that have you pretty low in terms of height level.
You can make the invisible chunk be visible by breaking a block or having a block update occur in the chunk.
Here are some images of what I've been experiencing:
Thanks for the mod, but sadly it's not working too good for me with 1.4.6. My users have this issue too.
Happy Holidays

Fixed this bug is not a necessity ?
For the time being, i wouldn't use optifine more as long as this bug will not fixed.
