The default chunk loading in 1.3.1 is a bit sluggish and need to be fixed. I will take a look at it when I get the time. The main problem is that the local server that runs inside the game uses it's own chunk loading algorithm.
Well give him time! A quick glance won't be enough to fix Mojang's "screw-ups".
I wouldn't expect any major improvements or fixes to be available for at least a week. AT LEAST.
I don't know though. It's up to how fast or how much sp614x is willing to work on this.
I'm a huge fan of your mod, and I was pleased to see a preview of the 1.3 version on Twitter, and that you are actually updating your mod to 1.3 unlike other people.
Enabling Anistropic Filtering and/or Antialiasing with Chunck Loading set to "Multicore" cause the rendering to only render entities like chests and Npcs.
Enabling Anistropic Filtering cause parts of the clock to not render when the clock is hold in hand (purple missing texture). Probably the same with the compass because it's a bug related to animated textures.
I'm glad optifine is updating and to all of you whining about when it's coming out then listen here, 1: there's a preview for 1.3.1 on his twitter and 2: Just wait guys I mean seriously, he is working as hard as he can. Can't you just wait? I think this update will last to at least a few more days or less. :\
I tried the preview and my world got corrupted. I have a hole in my world down to the void now. I have backups but probably lost a few hours of work. I just want to tell you guys to backup often.
I'm using the dual core flavor of Optifine and I'm getting some animal texture glitches. It seems that randomly, with each boot-up of Minecraft I get certain parts of animals missing. Would anyone tell me what to do to fix this?
EDIT: I'm running Dual Core Optifine for 1.2.5 on 1.2.5 Minecraft.

However, I went to the download and it showed me this: http://img839.images...1305/pic2no.png
Nothing happens, I tried to refresh and everything, i've waited for over an hour. So yeah, can you fix this or upload the file elsewhere? Thanks.
OptiFine is designed so that most features are configurable with options and when the option is set to OFF, then this feature should have ZERO effect on the performance.
So If AA, AF are OFF and Chunk Loading is Default, then the Ultra edition should be 100% identical to OptiFine Standard.
Setting profiles will probably be added in the not-so distant future.
Thanks for the quick reply
Also, just thought of a new question.
These supposed 'performance enhancements' in 1.3.1, do they stack with Optifine's, or does Optifine already use whatever Mojang did to increase performance?
I was wondering whether there was a way to get Smooth and Standard, but not Multi-Core, because that would rock. Also would somebody please explain the benefits if AA and AF?
You can try "Chunk Loading: Multi-Core".

If you look on sp614x's twitter, you'll find a preview for 1.3.1.
Cape activated for Trevor__.
