Are you using the INIO or 303 Optimine version?
The INIO version do not render the sunrise/sunset correctly, the 303 version works fine.
I use the 303 version when testing OptiFog.
I could only find INIOs version when I searched. What is wrong with sunrise/sunset? Think it looked ok to me..
They use different ways to render the sunset and for me the INIO version is not working (nVidia 5600).
303 uses the original Minecraft way to render it, I suppose it is more compatible with older hardware.
Your fix for the nether with the optimine version of OptiFog overwrites the ch.class file breaking the Single Player Commands mod. But without the ch.class the nether dosent work. I'm not expecting a Third/Forth version for SSPcomands w/ and without optimine, so pleas don't think I'm asking. I just think there should be something in the OP telling people this conflicts with SingleplayerCommands, if there using it. I'm trying to learn some java myself so, this may be just the project that i need to get motivated anyhow.
Aside from that the mod works great, I don't get a huge FPS bost but the game looks a whole lot better even on smaller render distances. Keep up the good work!

Yes, the bugfix is in a place that has nothing to do with rendering, but it is the only place possible.
I now tried it out with the debug map seed and my results are negative for optifog:
Vanilla: 90 fps
OptiFog Classic: 87 fps
OptiFog Exp: 68 fps
OptiFog MM: 65 fps
Can anyone explain this?
OptiFog Exp+Optimine: 75 fps
OptiFog Classic+Optimine: 122 fps
And the best result I got:
Optimine: 125 fps
My settings were far, fancy and smooth lightning on.
I have a ATI Radeon HD3850 with 256MB GDDR3 RAM, so seems like OptiFog don't like ATI Cards.
OptiFog classic is generally effective on FAST. The FANCY option is left for people who prefer the SLOWER and better looking fog type. The EXT and MM versions need hardware support so on older machines they may decrease FPS.
With OptiFog Classic on FAST you should get a nice FPS boost, try again.
There seems to be an incompatibility with Zan's minimap mod. You can get in game, and then the client crashes a few seconds later. If I had to guess, it has something to do with Zan's map trying to grab all of the chunks near the player and the OC denying it of certain information.
If that's the case, I imagine a compatibility patch is not really manageable. However, would it be possible to release a mod that just includes mipmapping?

Yes, the next version will me modular and configurable.
It will be possible to install only the class files for the Mipmap functions.
The fog, mipmap and other settings will be controlled with a configuration file.
The collisions will be minimized and hopefully the Zen's minimap will work.
This mod, along with Optimine, makes my Minecraft run so much smoother and faster. I've doubled my FPS! I'm using the classic version. The experimental version seemed to make my computer lag more.
With this mod installed Normal render distance is finally playable for IDK how long. Before I could play on Normal for about 5-7 mins before it started to lag. Now I can play on Normal with little lag that doesn't increase or decrease which is more favorable than before. Only downside is that it lags more than before on Far with fast graphics but that doesn't matter since playing on Far before meant lag within 3 mins. Thanks for the mod and I hope you keep it updated because I will need this until Notch makes performance better if he ever will.
is there any reson why, on some of my worlds,it only renders textures on blocks that are far away? sometimes it doesn't render the textures at all, and I have to start a new world.

Optimine INIO version:
Optimine 303 version:
310Fps on my PC Now On Normal And Fancy. :]
<3
(145 FPS On May Laptop On Short & Fast)
My scores using Debug map on Normal:
Fast
OptiFog = 90 FPS
Optimine + OptiFog = 93 FPS
OptiFog OC = 101 FPS
Optimine + OptiFog OC = 103 FPS
Fancy
OptiFog = 45 FPS
Optimine + OptiFog = 45 FPS
OptiFog OC = 55 FPS
Optimine + OptiFog OC = 55 FPS
Optimine adds only +2% on FAST and nothing on FANCY.
Aside from that the mod works great, I don't get a huge FPS bost but the game looks a whole lot better even on smaller render distances. Keep up the good work!

I test with an ATI HD4200. With it OptiFog works fine.
