I just used ramdisk on my minecraft, minecraft now runs twice as fast. With optifog/optimine - oh god I already nerded all over the keyboard. It's messy.

RAMDisk does improve loading world times and a little FPS, but it isn't really needed. I used to use a RAMDisk to run my saves off but whenever I start a new world, it'd be more laggy without the RAMDisk!

Basically its a mod that fixes the Lag Spikes of Death that have occured since Beta 1.6. All it is, is the game auto-saving itself every 2 or so seconds, which is causing Lag Spikes.
So in all, the Fix, Fixes Lag Spikes.
Sorry but this experience was around 1.3-1.5 I haven't tested recently because I can't enjoy minecraft as much without this mod. I cleared my whole world of trees by setting them on fire so I haven't tested it.
Leaf decay was fixed for 1.6, currently it is performing pretty well.
Did not played Minecraft for two days since i was lagging. Reason is with my lousy com :biggrin.gif:
Hope the mod update comes out by this week. Looking forward to play my server.
Okay, my bad. I always thought it's the decay, since I get some serious fps drops when in a forest.
Be glad you can set your trees on fire; server I play on has firespread OFF, so I can't remove the lag forests :sad.gif:
(At least I can place ID:90 all I damn well please :tongue.gif:)

Yeah. I get smoother gameplay in Minecraft servers since there aren't any lag spikes in servers :biggrin.gif:

Curse Premiumleaves don't decay when placed in 1.7
Disabling leaves decay makes no noticeable difference.
It is only a small part of the "white tops" on the F3 graphic.

I'm guessing it's the biome generation/terrain.
Are you getting a lot of chunk updates, red spikes or white spikes in F3 mode?
