The cmd starts Minecraft without authentication (username/password), so the server can not log you in.
i understand that is there a way so u can login and still use the cmd i play multi not sp but i like this mod also
also im looking around in the minecraft.exe and i found the login class files and launcher class files. is there a way to write an exe using the same classess and the cmd code i can find someone to write it im a modder for MechWarrior LivingLegends so i know some coders
I think the authentifaction is implemented in Minecraft.exe, not in the JAR file, so that it can not be decompiled (security).
The Minecraft.exe file does not accept parameters from outside so it is not possible to use CMD file to control it.
Great mod man But I have one question: How to do this???
3. Lauch Minecraft with less memory (yes, really). It needs maximum 256 MB and runs fine on all settings with the default texture pack. By default java allocates insane amounts of memory (1GB?) which then gets swapped to disk and the overall performance suffers a lot. I use a custom launcher to do this, here is the CMD file:
Code: Select all
start javaw -Xmx256M -Djava.library.path=bin/natives -cp bin/minecraft.jar;bin/jinput.jar;bin/lwjgl.jar;bin/lwjgl_util.jar net.minecraft.client.Minecraft
The first line points to the minecraft installation, so you can install Minecraft anywhere. Remove it if you run from the default directory.
Can't get the cmd example to work either with line one removed (as I've got the standard install path), or even with line one amended to my path. When I run it nothing happens!
With the standard version of your mod I can start MC, login and then I get a blank screen. With the ex version it starts to load a saved game then hangs. Without either I can play at 7-13 fps (rubbish laptop).
What shall I try? Hope this works for me as Optimine didnt make any difference as far as I could see (for me anyway). Thanks :-)

The original Notch OC version had quite noticable tearing at the corners and rendering of some "invisible" objects (underground caves etc). It always renders the objects with unknown visibility status, producing visible artifacts.
The OptiFog version runs smoother and the tearing is minimal. It does not render the objects with unknown visibility status, creating at most an empty space for 1 frame. I can not notice the tearing when running with 20-30 FPS even if I specially try to trigger it (tested on nVidia). On low FPS it is noticable, but not disturbing.
When I get the chance I will test this and even if it doesnt reduce lag, minecraft will atleast look better due to the fog :smile.gif:
EDIT: Just tested it, pretty much the same mabe slightly better, but still, It looks much better on short and tiny (which is what i am forced to use) and I can also use smooth lighting now :biggrin.gif: Which is esentially a HD button :smile.gif:
Thanks for this mod again, Optimine did nothing this time for me aswell
sp614x, thanks so much for making this. I had to register just to express my gratitude, this pretty much completely changes the way I play the game. I used to have to hover my finger over "F" and continuously change the rendering distance just to get a few seconds of no lag. Optimine didn't really work well for me unfortunately. Thanks for making Minecraft playable!
Awesome mod. Thank you. I tested it real quick because I am at school and need to get to class soon, but it did improve my FPS. I used the experimental OC version real quick on a Toshiba Satellite laptop (Celeron 900 @ 2.2GHz and integrated Intel X4500HD graphics) and my FPS ranged from 20~50 (I think the average was around 34 FPS) on Tiny with Smooth Lighting enabled. It appears to be a little bit better than Optimine for me because Optimine tended to get me no more than 30 FPS, but usually ~22 FPS. Hopefully the two can be combined to produce an almighty optimization mod.
I have a complaint to make, my fps when playing of fast and on tiny dropped from 900 fps to 850, iterestingly my fps went up when playing on far with fancy on from around 100 to between 100 and 200, and all this on a 32 by 32 texture pack.
Edit: i know what happened, after installing this i realised it was uncompatible with optimine which i had previously installed, so i got a fresh install, well, i like the effect but it seems to slow it down a bit without optimine, ill just play with optimine for now. Nice mod anyway, and yes my complaint was a bit stupid seeming as i get extreme FPS without it anyway.
