Well, V2 sort of screwed up everything...
Before, with inio's I was running on 60fps, which compared to the 30fps I was getting before, was great. Now, I get 20fps, and whenever I try to craft or place a block, minecraft crashes. I can't see the error log, because it crashes hard. Is there any link to download inio's?
Edit: Lathanel, you are possibly my favorite person. I read that I should use the new patcher, without the rf.class files in optimine, and i currently have 60fps
You should really keep the download links for older versions :tongue.gif: Isn't there a mod that lets you use outdated mods with the latest version or something?
If there is, never heard of it, but there is a tool that will let you downgrade to previous versions of Minecraft: viewtopic.php?f=1022&t=113094
Does this actually help boost past 1.5's new performance increase? I used it before 1.5 but now it runs pretty smooth for me without any mods. I guess the only way to find out is to try.
This mod causes crashes when you switch texturepacks when you have minecraft patched with mcpatcher.

Just your friendly, neighborhood /r/Minecraft mod.
Hmm, haven't noticed much of a difference with this installed. I'm sitting around 25-30 FPS with no texture packs, normal rendering distance, smooth lighting off, advanced OpenGL on, and fast graphics. With fancy graphics (which I very much want) on, I drop to around 15, with constant lag spikes dropping me below 10 FPS. Any other tips people can give me? I want Minecraft lag free!

No, if the mod needs to modify rf.class, then it should. You can't just go and start leaving out classes and not expect things to break.

Just your friendly, neighborhood /r/Minecraft mod.
I get those enormous bursts where it lags greatly, and I'm not sure what's causing this. If anyone has any clue to why this happens, it'd be greatly appreciated. I can try to do research on how to fix whatever the problem is. Thanks in advance!
I've had this problem since alpha. It has gotten somewhat better with updates, but i finally figured out what causes these huge lag bursts...
Overheating. Minecraft can really test your computer's stability, when components reach a certain temperature, computing errors happen that minecraft has trouble recovering from. This is why it gets worse the longer your play.
I raised my laptop up off my desk, and directed a small desk fan to blow beneath it, this lowers my cpu temps significantly, and pretty much cures the game destroying uber-lag.
I have the same lag bursts, and I highly doubt anything is overheating. Individual core temps are normal, graphics card temp is normal, and I didn't have any problems like this at all with 1.4 (with optimine and optifog with OC on). It seems to be some sort of I/O issue. As far as I can tell, the red (or green) portion of the debug graph is the time it takes to actually render the frame, the white portion is... other stuff. Pausing the game in SMP pretty much immediately fixes the problem (but it will happen again), and it will eventually clear up otherwise.
does optimine work with smp? I mean i put it in minecraft and played single player and yes it works. But just wondering does this also reduce lag for smp?
Thank you thank you thank you thank youuu! What did you do? How did you do this? Notch should totally add this in the next update! It made me able to go to Fast Graphics -> Normal. Before, I could only go to Fast Graphics -> Tiny. Short would lag randomly, it doesn't even lag randomly on Normal!

Umm I don't really know how it works, but it does work on my low end laptop :biggrin.gif:
