Wow! This is almost as awesome as pie! Great mod! and can someone make a skin for the creeperwolf? That also blows up when you get near it? :biggrin.gif:
Okay I did something wrong. I tried to delete my bin and reinstall minecraft, but no matter what I do, no wolves EVER spawn. I don't have any mods on, and I've been running for 12 MC days, without seeing one wolf. Help.

I have been testing out the mod and the mod has a problem with breeding. First I tested the breeding and it worked. Now i breed my dogs with their cloths on and it crashes.
I have a quiiiccckkk question.
I have minecraft patched to 64px, and I run a 64px texture pack, so 16px wolves running around would look... odd.
I'm very comfortable tweaking my current wolf texture into different colours, but would replacing the textures that come with this pack with my tweaked ones (keeping in mind that they're 64px) work?
Not sure if this was overlooked, but I'd really like an answer to whether this would work, in theory?
A simple yes or no will suffice :smile.gif:
Hey i downloaded the new-er version of this mod, but when loading, minecraft crashes. I'm running on a new .jar with only Risugami's mod loader and the wolf variations mod (with nandoprops.class).
Does anybody know how I can make wolves start to spawn again? I got a completely new minecraft folder (apart from my saves) and I've been running around on several different worlds for 4-5 MC days each without seeing one wolf.

I can't get any more than 4 skins working. It doesn't seem to mind adding more wolves to the wolflist. I think the problem is that it doesn't like how I name the images. Using the names you provide works well, but I can't get anything else to work. I just rename the images to match what was already there.
Meh, I'll keep fiddling with it. Probably my fault.
Oh, forgot to mention that this mod is awesome. I'll figure it out eventually.
I install the mod loader, and the wolf skin pack, I put the WolfVariations folder into my .minecraft folder, and everything else into the minecraft.jar, but when I go to play the game, all the wolves are just in the default skin.
Now, they were there before I installed the mod, is that the problem? Or did I do something wrong?
EDIT- Ah, never mind, I got it! Great work! I love it!
Am I supposed to put the entire Wolf Variations folder in the .minecraft, or should I put each individual file in the .minecraft?

I have been testing out the mod and the mod has a problem with breeding. First I tested the breeding and it worked. Now i breed my dogs with their cloths on and it crashes.
I got a completely fresh minecraft.jar, then looked for some wolves. After about five minutes, I found 4 wolves. I tamed two, kept two as wild. I logged out. Then, I installed this mod. I did not change any of the files, and I put them in the correct places. When I logged in, all four wolves were gone, and no matter how many days I have looked (at least 20 MC days) there are no wolves to be found. I have repeated this entire process four times now. Somebody please help me?

Do you know why wolves aren't appearing for me, or do you know if any other people have had my problem?

AWESOME I have been looking for a mod like this ever sence wolfs came out.
but the download file dose not work for me
it dose not show up as a rip file
anyone know why?
That wasn't the problem, I just neglected to add in the other variations thinking that xau's patcher would inject all the mobs into the file. I guess it doesn't. Problem was definitely on my end. Glad I figured it out anyway.
Now happily running around with 7 different kinds of wolves. :biggrin.gif:
