As far as I know I installed it correctly as it says to for 1.6.6 beta with latest mod loader but it displays a black screen? I've tried with a clean minecraft bin about 3 times now and still doesnt work :mellow.gif: ??
Lumbermen are only planting 1 sapling per stack of 64. how was that determined? Kinniken 07:33, June 1, 2011 (UTC)
Lumbermen will sometimes plant the default sapling even though all they pick up are from pine trees. Most likely not a bug, they start with ten normal saplings in their inventory Kinniken 07:33, June 1, 2011 (UTC)
This test was done on a new world using 0.7 with a clear empty space of 400x400 and used a wand to create a grosbourg village and Hamlets.
When the game started each lumbermen only planted one sapling.
If you give them one more and they plant one.
If you give them 10 and they plant 1.
If you give them 32 and they plant 1.
If you give them 64 and they plant 1.
If you give them 128 and they plant 2.
If you give them 512 and they plant 4.
If you give them 1024 pine saplings and they planted 6 pine and 2 normal.
If you give them 512 pine and 512 Birch and they planted 3 pine 1 Birch and 4 normal.
Above test was tried with 5 different lumbermen and the amount of normal saplings seems to be random.
This test was done on a new world using 0.7 with a forest of 400x400 and used a wand to create a grosbourg village and Hamlets.
There was something like around 25k pine trees.
First the lumbermen cleared the areas around each hamlet which was somewhere around 2-5k pine trees and they only replanted 48.
Of the 48 planted 22 where normal and 26 where pine.
Another thing odd bug I found...
If you give them 128 of pine saplings and let them plant the 4.
If you then go and pick the normal ones they will not stack with other normal ones in your inventory.
Looking at it using an external inv edit programme and it shows up as item id 6 with a damage value of 3.
6:0 = normal, 6:1 = pine, 6:2 = Birch.
I'm surprised mc did not crash when I had an illegal item of 6:3 lol.
Interesting test. I'll see if I can replicate it tonight. I wonder how they got those 6:3 saplings...

It needs 434 and won't let me go past 220. I just started so I don't have any other village. I'll sell the cobblestone, watch the number on the sign go from 220/434 to 434/434 and then it suddenly drops back down to 220/434. I tried killing him but it didn't do anything. And whenever any other villagers add cobblestone he just comes and takes that as well.
Same thing happen to me except its wood instead of stone ????
Then please post the following:
- your village type
- how much of the resource in question the merchant leaves
- how much the current project needs of it

The second. If I use the first then I have to allow many many blocks, and it will run into problems with mods than add natural blocks such as new trees or plants. Also, I feel that it's easier for the player to deal with blocks not getting detected rather than the reverse; a plastic house for instance will work fine if you just put a strip of cobblestones under the wall (they don't even have to show, they can be underground, they just need to be above the first "soil" block).

I've built about 10 other buildings. 2 quarries, a cattle farm, a watch tower, a sheep & chicken farm, 2 lumberman's hut, fountain, forge, a fountain, an inn, and a tavern.
Hey, I need some sort of Tapestry Normand for my level 9 fort, but I have no idea how to get some?
The lady will make them if you (or the merchant if you're lucky) provide her with white, light gray, gray, brown and black wool (one of each per tapestry except white, two are needed there).

Otherwise, has anybody got a market and foreign merchants yet?

Otherwise, has anyone got a Market yet? I'd like feedback on how well they work and whether the price levels are ok.
I have a problem where the "level 1" market has the merchants spawning within the walls of the market itself. At a result, it is "killing off" the merchants. Likely a minor bug simply due to the placement of the merchants themselves. I "fixed" the problem simply by chopping a hole in the wall to let them spawn.
BTW, I love the skins on the "foreign" merchants! There are some really cool outfits there.
In other news, I am having problems with the village building the Puit, in spite of the fact that after it declared there was "not enough space" to build it, there seemed to be enough room to build the market and the chapel. Any thoughts on what to fix here? I'm curious if it scans for underground caverns before it is built, as there seems to be a bunch where my village started.

I had something similar happen with the merchant. I think it was in an industrial hamlet. (the one that makes woodcutters + miners). I think they were doing the final update (434 cobble required) had about 200 or so, I sold them a bunch of stacks, but I missed the limit by about 6-9, then the merchant instantly grabbed 1/2 of the cobblestone and I was like "wtf". (when I went to grab 1/2 a stack from a nearby chest)
But right after that it said project completed and no more building plans so it seems like the village is all upgraded anyway. [So maybe the merchant knew it was already done]
i think i have 2 problems with this mod right now.
first, i get this bug:

the map i'm playing on is using the primordial desert map generator, which is a bad idea under my case. this particular map is not ideal for the millenaire village because i made it a small 16x size so the immediate area is enclosed in bedrock walls all the way to the sky ceiling. (i was playing this map before trying the millenaire mod. i figured the map was too small to handle any villages but it spawned some ayway to my suprise... (some inside the bedrock wall, and some outside the bedrock wall). funny thing is, one village building placed itself in the bedrock wall, destroyed the bedrock wall to make room, which now allows me to leave the area!
which leads to what i think is my 2nd problem with the mod. that same village that broke through the bedrock... will not upgrade construction now because it says "no space available" for the pig farm. im guessing thats because of the bedrock wall? or the nearby lava volcano that i haven't deleted yet?
i'm not sure if this error (first one quoted above) is related to the bedrock/volcano though, because i think this is in regard to another village outside of the bedrock? maybe not. i'm new to this mod and i just got the translation from french to english :tongue.gif:
edit: actually, they are hamlets and the town is the one with that error which is outside the bedrock. agricole hamlet is the one that broke through the bedrock for me. the industrious hamlet is inside and running fine. i'm gonna venture out and check the town and the other hamlet.

Version 2.1 now updated for MC 1.6.2
Oh, whoops sorry. It says that there's nothing currently under construction.

do you have ModLoader installed and did you delete META-INF?
0.7 works fine for everyone else in this thread, re-download it, if its corrupted.
did you delete META-INF inside the jar?
He does have a fix for that. put somekind of artificial block in the same column and he won't cut it down.
they won't break down this log wall because that cobblestone is in there.
Also guys, there's a wiki with an FAQ so the thread doesn't get clogged with questions like these
