Hey, I was wondering if there was any way a lot deed could be implemented that a player could buy and would designate an area on the village map as a village structure so that villagers wouldn't build on or near it so that a player could, instead, build something without fear of villagers being dumb pricks to their beautiful project.
Couple ways to do this.
1. Make a building plan that is all air.
2. Give up on designing your own house and use one of the buildings built on the custom buildings thread found at the bottom of the OP.
where do i create this mod directory folder? like specifically i know where to put the first stuff but the other unzipped one does that go in the minecraft thing with the META folder

It goes right in the .minecraft directory. Just create a folder named "mods" and put the zipped millenaire file into it. Building plans goes in the .minecraft as well.
(My worst nightmare is having somebody explain how it would be impossible for any of these ideas to be implemented but I have a sinking feeling that if they were possible some of these ideas would already be included)
I'm very surprised Joeyjam hasn't broken down my door over building destruction yet, I assumed there was some reason why this was flat out impossible.

It's not true that my ideas can cause injury, people just implement them wrong.

Not sure if someone has already done this, but I've made a set of textures to match the Dokucraft 32x32 texture pack. Here is an example:
From left to right, top to bottom: Panel GUI, Parchment GUI, Cider Apple, Parchment Building, Raven Amulet (I recognize I need to remake this, I did not understand how it functioned before), Tripes, Village Wand, Shovel, Pick, Hoe (yes, I know different from Doku), Sword, Axe, Calva, Cider, Denier, Denier Argent, Denier Or
I'm currently awaiting permission from the Doku pack creator, and if it goes well I was hoping this (once cleaned up) could go on the wiki considering the popularity of that texture pack.
I tried to replace the fence, still gets invisible.
I got that too the first time I used this mod. Maybe it makes it more susceptible to the bug, but it's a Minecraft bug, not this mod. If you check the upcoming Minecraft 1.6 update changelog, you will see it will be fixed soon.
Amulette of Raven: It has a colored circle in the middle of it...
Green: No mobs endangering you
Blue: A enemy mob is near
Purple: Mob is close..most likely attacking you at this point
Orange: About the close enough to a mob that if it were a creeper it would explode
Red: As close to an enemy mob as a zombies range (means if it were a zombie it would be attacking you)
Not sure if this made much sense or not im a bit tired
Edit: The texture for it is good kinniken :tongue.gif:
Sand is WAY better then a diamond sword. What's better than diamond? Nothing.
But sand is better than nothing, right? Diamond < Nothing < Sand. Thusly, sand is better than a diamond sword.

That's about it, though I'll add that the colours are purely distance-based.
BTW, I think I'll change the system in the next update to have gradual colouring instead of five distinct shades. It will make it a little trickier to use, right now it's too powerful.

I want to thank you for this mod.... it has been an enjoyable extension for Minecraft that really adds some flavor and life to the game.
I do have a simple suggestion, however: A "job" for the little girls (aka filles).
If you have ever had a daughter (I have three) one common trait is that they seem to be wandering off and collecting flowers. Since the tapestries need dyes anyway for coloration, I figure it would make logical sense that each girl would be collecting flowers that they find. To keep it simple, perhaps a good way to model this behavior (rather than getting so complex like the lumber jack that is very CPU intensive) is that there is a random chance where the girl would find a flower each day somewhere unexpected (I would suggest a 50% chance per girl per day) with that flower being a random color. These flowers could also be "exported" to other towns as dyes, to be used in tapestry construction or other projects.
Yes, I'm suggesting that perhaps villages could set up a "floral shop" or at least there might be a way for players to be able to purchase flowers that these little girls are finding, but it would also have other uses.
Since little girls are doing their part economically for their families, I've also thought about what might be interesting for little boys. While not as charming, I thought it might be interesting if they were able to find mushrooms with a similar random chance. It wouldn't overwhelm the town chests and it certainly wouldn't be a major "money maker" for the families, but it is something to keep the boys busy before they grow up doing "real jobs" for the town. Mushrooms would also make for some interesting food items, so it may end up being consumed by the families for something else, but there certainly are some practical uses for mushrooms where it might come in handy.
Anyway, just a thought for a potential future upgrade that shouldn't overpower the village but makes use of existing features.

Awesome mod, its breathed new life into minecraft for me. Its also great that there are updates and fixes almost everyday.
I just have a few errors to ask about.
Firstly there is this issue where merchants take almost all of the resources i sell to the town (they now have a chest near full of cobble stone). They dont seem to do anything about it.
I also get this error at night

And will my villages break/crash after the update?

I think he means it will tell you if a hostile monster is approaching.
The Inn sign says "Imports:" twice when the bottom one should be "Exports:".
It's clear once right clicking the sign, but not otherwise.
