Uhm.. Kinniken. is it just me or. The Church makes uber lag when the villagers go home. Can you like limit the Church Goers to Like 5 villagers. There's like 15 of them inside and... im getting flat 1 fps when they go home. It settles down though when they reached their homes.
So the "sudden huge amount of resources out of nowhere" does seem to be wives somehow bringing back all their building materials.
What's really bothering me now is that although the Archives were finished and upgraded, the "village project sign" still says that the next project is Archives. When I right click it to check, the Archives are nowhere on the list of "stuff left to build".
On another note, if I might make a suggestion, how about a special properties file for buildings/villager occupations? So, for example, if a mod that added dye-able clothing were added, one could integrate it by making a "Tailleur" building that would take/buy wool and dye, and sell finished clothing.
Well, maybe I'm just lucky, but a fresh world I left running for about eleven hours while at work has progressed really well... They have built everything that does not require smooth stone, and that seems to be because the miner is using both his ovens full-time for glass. Even assuming that they got a lot of free resources via that bug, that does mean a woman had to go and build all those structures and managed it fine. All the shops are full too.

Ok, I've figured out the "free resource" bug... And god is it stupid. After a construction is finished, the woman actually gains the cost of the building. It's a simple sign mistake.
Before 0.4.3, this affected only wood, because women were not programmed to bring back the other construction resources, and no doubt explains the rather insane amounts of wood an advanced village would have. Since the update, women also bring back cobblestones, stones and glass to the Town Hall, so it affects those resources as well...

I've still got the bug where the fort isn't build correct at the second upgrade, I know who is building. After killing her she goes to the town hall to get resources to build at the fort. But when she got the resources she walks around at the entrance of the town hall, so she won't exit it. She keep walking and hit or pushing doesn't work. Only killing work but then it starts from the beginning...
Please help?
Or need anybody my save to let the fort build with your help?
As no-one's pointed this out yet, regular chests are already an option in custom building plans, though you will have to make & sell them to the village for them to place them. I've previously made a small house that starts with a double chest, so I know for a fact that it works.

Can someone please design a wolf pound building? I don't know how to add wolf spawning areas to it, like cattle farms have cow spawning pins in them. I don't really know how to add buildings in the txt files, it looks a bit simple but its confusing to me o.O
I've been using this mod since their 0.3 version release, and I'm quite happy with the results. I got a huge, really huge village, with almost every building and upgrade. I'd say it only last 10 or so buildings to build. In the 0.4.2b there was no lag. I see two CPU Spikes, 1 fps for about one minute. I just pop up the inventory and go read a book, when I look back, it's normal again.
I instaled 0.4.3 and for about 15 minutes, there was no lag. I went underground, grab some gold, came back and the game freezes near the quarry. When I load the world again, spikes. 1 fps, 5 fps, near the village center, and so. So, yes, the problem is with the upgrade.
Anyway, this is simply the best mod I've ever seen. Really. You deserve over nine thousand diamonds of pure awesomeness. If someday you'll need someone to translate it to latin languages, I'll be trully happy to help.

Has anyone else moved to the cowfarm? Just put up dirt blocks in the doorway at night, put up some torches, and put a bed in there. Town hall is also good. Basically, anywhere people don't already live. Also, maybe an inn where once you buy a night there (or for a sufficient amount of money, you can just buy a room entirely) then a bed is made available and the bedrock wall blocking the room off is replaced with wood.

if you dwonload wierziq's building pack, you will get a plan that the villagers build a home for you.
I don't know, an inn sounds cooler. Maybe once this mod really gets going, other NPCs will cycle through your town on horseback, and stay at the inn for a few days at a time. They'll sell rare items to you and the town, buy stuff, and maybe one day even give you quests! Maybe once towns start to be able to trade with each other, this is where traders would stay the night.

Wolf spawners aren't currently anything we can add. If you want wolves, you'll have to find them the old fashioned way...

i get alot of lag when night falls and alot of lag when the comes up to and I mean like 1 fps so ya and it stays like that for 1 min and at someponits it lags bad. the mod is really cool and fun so ty for makeing it
Quick question: can I assign villagers to buildings/tasks in said buildings when making one? I have an idea. Also, for the inn, the parents should become old and the children take over their current house, so that the old people can staff the inn.

- Significant speed improvements in pathing
- Fixed a bug in the pathing algorithm responsible for some lag issues
- Fixed a major bug where resources used up in a construction were doubled instead of consumed.
- Fixed bugs in the miner's resource-cooking AI giving him free wood and sand
- Tweaked the plans for the three animal farms to have less choke points
Feedback on the speed would be most welcome. My profiling shows a significant reduction in lag spikes, but the specifics tend to vary from computers to computers, so I need reports.
