Is it possible to have a village in the Nether? I keep trying the village wand on a block of obsidian but it keeps saying "Could not find space for a Town Hall"
Not atm, I'm assuming mainly because villagers currently only build on dirt, sand, and gravel, and there is none of that in the Nether. Plus it may be how the Nether is programmed compared to the "real world". But who knows, Kinniken may add this functionality in the future. It'd be kinda dangerous with all of the though.
Building in a desert will cause severe lag. Also, I have seen villagers build upgrades several times over and have seen them build new upgrades, but instead of building additions or replacing blocks they seem to rebuild the entire building, walking around it repteadly while pointing at the building(indicating they are replacing blocks). Is there a way to fix this?
Hm, I'm not sure about that one. That's really strange to me, because the way the building upgrades work, they should only be adding/replacing the new upgrade blocks. Are you sure you've got the correct buildingplans installed that came with the latest version?
I'm having the same problem and the sign says there's enough resources for a animal farm.
Q: The village has enough space/resources. Why aren't they building?
A: Are they finished with their previous project? If yes, exit Minecraft completely and log back in. If they still don't start work after a couple minutes, you may have space issue without realizing it. Villagers do not like building over water: fill in nearby lakes, don't just cover them.
That was taken from the FAQ that ST posted a little bit ago. Have you tried restarting MineCraft and everything?

Yes, they have done it several times in a row now.
Strange, I don't know what to tell you to be honest. Has anything happened to the buildings? Like have you destroyed any of the blocks by accident? Are any of the buildings right next a mountain/hill type deal?
Speaking of finishing, the last project glitched out at 99%, no one would complete it, so I uninstalled the mod temp. and removed the text file. Then it started to fail. Could this be related?

You have the wrong name in the quote.
Anyways, yes, i did all of that. I used worldedit to replace water with dirt to make a nice flat land in the middle of the village too. (Yes, there's no water underneath the land.)
I am getting this error in the log:
0.3.8 03-05-2011 17:28:25 ERROR: townhall_0 at -3/71/-219/2/0 Rocquancourt-l'océan: Could not find a seller. Looked through 0 wives in 0 villagers.
I do not believe it's any mods fault because the mod worked perfectly fine for building a lot of buildings, until it hit the animal farm.

Sorry about that, I assumed you could both take from the same post. Anyways, that error indicates that you don't have anyone in the town to build. As a matter of fact, it says that you don't have anyone in the town period.
i have a problem with the finiteliquid mod, i guess villagers can't recognize water from the mod and just build things in the water, really strange village i got haha
if you could just look into that
thank you
ps. really nice mod, the villagers are building much faster now, which is awesome

Yeah, that happens because FiniteLiquid uses a different blockID for its water blocks. Millenaire specifically looks for the original water block from MineCraft, so it doesn't catch if FiniteLiquid has caused a flood, and will go ahead and build villages halfway underwater. Pretty funny looking. :tongue.gif:
Great mod but 1 question, why French? Other than the different language thing the mod is great and im now building an Empire out of the various towns I have with Obsidian and the Village Wand.

It's because the mod is based in the 11th century and the Normans, which are a French people coming from the Norse invaders that invaded northern France during the time.

Important: This mod updates frequently. Updating may break your villages. Don't get attached if you plan to update.
On a rare occasion the vendor at town hall will completely disappear so you will get the be right there message but no one will show up no matter what you do, even exiting the game and/or area will not fix this.
Are you sure she's disappeared? Others have reported that she's simply in the crypt/stuck in another building.
Here's some more detail:
There is no crypt on the town hall where the vendor does not show up as this building was completely constructed before I updated to 3.8. The second village which completed the upgrade after I updated and has the crypt is working fine.
Now back to the village with no vendor:
They put up construction site signs but will not build and there is a female walking around scanning but not doing anything (going on for days). At one point I tore down the lumberjack house sign at the construction site and removed the building plans (temporarily) then I restarted and they put a construction site sign for a farm but will not build. So I would say something happened between updates to cause all of this.
EDIT-OK I found the vendor Dithilde Lothar in one of the buildings trying to walk through a wall, I'll whip her with a fishing rod and let you know how she responds (ouch)
EDIT- She will not leave the armory. I tried pushing and pulling her. She warps within the armory also.

Well that would be incorrect judging by the fact that there's people all around and it says town population of 8 adults 1 child.
Would it be possible to set up the default buildings' plans to use PNG images as opposed to ascii? The formatting makes it very difficult to customize all the basic buildings.
Yep over 500 wood and cobble, that's enough for pretty much anything.

Hm.. what do you see on the bottom-left 4 signs? Are the required resources completely filled up? Maybe you haven't given them enough glass/iron?

This is for a fort BTW

Interesting construction plans my villages have
(I had to add the windows, floors, and torches as well)
