If you think you have the solution to a bug please post about it on the Bug Reports page.
Not a solution, no; I only mentioned a "sneaking suspicion". And if Kinniken really is *so* busy coding, I assume he knows what's going on.
... In any case, the first thing in code I would look for is searching the classes where the "bad packet id 2" error is being thrown. Same with any mod that throws an error; if the crash log doesn't help directly, I would go looking for where such an error is thrown. I should not need to submit this to the bug reports, because Kinniken (I presume) is smart enough to be doing that already.
Edit: not sure what packet id 2 is, at the moment, I'm not looking into the code right now; but, assuming it's a "packet of data" that is sent to a server, perhaps that packet could use some optimization.

I love this mod but if i may i would just like to say i think you should have a setting to change from boy to girl because i dont really like the villagers calling me a boy it just gets on my nerves thank you for understanding
Good suggestion, please be sure to post this on the Suggestions page.
Any update on a workaround for those of us stuck with the Packet 2 bug in 5.1.9 as described: http://millenaire.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=203 ? Locked out of my SMP server until there is a fix or workaround.

Deleting the village is what I ultimately had to do.

Truly great mod! I have just started using it. Unfortunately I have travelled pretty damn far in all directions in my world so It's gonna take a while before I actually find some spawned villages. Is it possible to have it generate villages in existing chunks?
Great with the editor that lets me populate my until now abandoned city! Btw.. is there a performance hit if you add many villagers in the same chunk? I've had some trouble with performance recently but I havent really tested if it's this mod. Pretty sure it isn't.

I have a Norman controlled village and all the chests keep filling up with dirt paths and walls. Is there a way to prevent this?
File an issue on the Millenaire issue tracker. The (hopefully) intended result is that villages/villagers should not make more than a certain quantity of any one item. Exactly how they decide what products to make available is somewhat a "black art"; I would hope that some process would mitigate just how many items get produced so that such an overflow never happens again...

No, it's probably working just fine. The limit goal for both dirt paths and dirt walls is 512. So they won't stop making it until they have 512 of each.

So, that's eight stacks of sixty-four blocks, each? Total of sixteen stacks? These should fit within the town hall's chests, with room to spare for the other items.
Although, if other items are being produced that might fill up the chests, then my previous comment still stands: the mod needs some sort of method to "mitigate" or adjust the overall proportions of items being produced daily, allowing for production of building requirements, but cutting back on the quantities of other items.

However, the goals to make dirt walls and dirt paths do have the lowest priority I've seen for a goal so they should only make them when they have nothing else to do. That said, those 2 goals also don't take any input resources to create their output so they might actually get done before other things that require resources.

It will not generate villages in existing chunk, because what if you had a house there and a village just spawned right on top of it deleting all of your stuff?!
Press V, if nothing says anything then you've installed it wrong.

Since each villager runs their own tasks, adding a ton in one spot will lag the game, yes.
seems cool, i ll try it. if i like it, i ll support it and maybe even make the translation for the greek language (for free of course ) i ll contact you for that if i ll do it
I recommend the official Millenaire forums for Greek translation offers.
When i create a new village by using summoning wand, village defence point is always 0 and i cannot trade with the villagers.
They always keep saying "how can you think about trading when our village is devastated." something like that.
Also all the chest are unlocked.
And it is not being fixed after sleeping in the village.
-Sorry for grammatical mistakes english is not my main language-
I have exactly the same problem.
All villages i found new are devastated always. They have no defense military and i can't trade with all kind of cultures cuz of this problem.
Also i found nearly 15-20 villages total and there is no norman culture yet.
These are big problems to run milllenaire and i dont know how to fully uninstall millenaire from my saved world
Exactly the same problem? So you are spawning in new villages manually?

Could you elaborate?

There are a lot of cultures and even more varying types of villages, you are not likely to find every culture when you only have found 15-20 villages.

If by fully you mean to remove the buildings themselves too, you can't. The way Minecraft works is that once something gets generated it stays there.
Sure all the Millenaire-specific blocks and the people can be removed, but not everything else.

My question for norman culture and uninstalling millenaire is ok. I can handle these situations.
But i cant trade with villages, this is my big problem.
The situation is like this:
I was playing MC single player survival mode before installing millenaire.
I installed millenaire to my saved world to have fun and interact with millenaire villages. (My goal wasn't to create a village manually for myself. I have already builded town for myself only. I only want to interact with pc spawned around villages for only trading)
Then after installed millenaire i started to look around for millenaire villages and i found nearly 20 millenaire villages until now.
Everytime first i want to trade with them.
But every millenaire village i visited and tried to trade always said this sentence to me: "How can you trade while our village is devastated..." smt like this. I never find a normal and able village to trade.
And when i find a new village, all chests of the village instantly unlocks to me. I can open all chests of new villages.
I searched internet if i doing something wrong. But i did all intructions to trade with villages. No luck.
I'm thinking that some specific and same key bug or wrong installation causing this problem.
As the image i uploaded in my previous post, all villages have 0 defense point as written in defense sign. And may be 0 defense point causing always devastated statement for them. And so they keep refusing to trade with me. (my reputation is over 0 with hindus and still no luck to trade). Their offense point is ok, this point is always changing. And also villages can raid to the others. Raid also succesfully ends or stop. (Also millenaire quests have no problem, i can take these quests and succesfully finish)
But as i said, all new villages have zero defense point always and all new village's chests are instantly unlocked to me when i found them. And i can't trade with every village cuz of devastated statement. These problem making millenaire mod useless for me
(ps: sorry for my bad english, i wish i successfully told my problem)

Assumptions are not wise to follow.
They don't HAVE to, you are just unlucky.

Problem is we can't get in the server, all of us have the packet id 2 error now.
