I uninstalled this mod exactly because of lags. but it was before 1.0, so things may be better.
Btw, can lag be reduced even further by cheating? Like, when player is not around, villagers don't actually go and do things by hand, but cheat thing in - just add certain number of timber/bread/ etc to chests, place complete buildings , etc.
Ya in the config you can set a village not to do anything once you get X far away from the village
Other than that your out of luck
I love the multicultural languages. And I love that you have added more translations.
You don't want people to actually learn something while playing minecraft, do you? :smile.gif:
By the way, the grove feature has another benefit that I found today. I'm using Nature Overhaul mod, where saplings won't grow in harsh climate biomes. A village spawned in an artic biome and so there was absolutely no natural trees. The groves worked, though, and its kinda realistic in that if humans tend the grove they are able to make the trees grow even in a poor climate. The village would have been broken due to no wood collection, but because of the groves it is not.
for my fort it says i need a tapisserie normande i bought the objects thing it says it's a decoration and the lady of the fort makes it but like what does it look like or how long does it take them to make?

Wow, I asked that same question last page, and no one answered. Thanks dorky!
By the way, is it normal to have 3 villages extremely close to each other? In my world (seed = Villages), I got 3 villages so close to each other that they will probably overlap by the time they are complete. I'm also experiencing pretty extreme lag.
I'm considering just ditching the world, and starting over.
I ran far away (500m), and hit 'v', and still see only the three starting villages.

Actually I think it would do good to some people, but with gameplay in mind and the addition of an other language I decided to have mercy and add some translations :wink.gif: I'll probably removed the translated villager type over their head however, it crowds things too much.

Nice, if unintended!

GREAT job, works perfectly! The only problem is that I have massive lag spikes just about every 20 seconds in-game. I have a very powerful computer. Anyone know why this is happening?
1.0.1
- Fixed major bug preventing Indian peasants from delivering collected mud bricks to the village chief's house
- Fixed crash when using the "V" command in worlds with villages from earlier versions
- Fixed bug where a Gros Bourg generated using a village wand would not have its Hamlets spawned if village generation was turned off
- The "reputation" sentences are now culture-specific
- Changes to the block ids in config.txt now also apply to blocklist.txt
- Removed English villager type above villagers' heads, it was too cluttered (the translation remains in all the panels)

Delete the "hindi" folder, or open "culture.txt" within it and remove the biomes lines.
Just curious though, why? Because of the theme or for a gameplay reason?
I figure it's because it's less... refined than the Norman ones right now. No player housing, the glitch where they can't further their own village... Well, they have less right now, is what I'm saying. :tongue.gif:
I had a thought. Is it possible to create our own themed villages? I'm thinking of getting this mod again, but I'd like it to go along with my Steamcraft mod, and generate Victorian style villages instead of the standard Norman and Indian ones, simply for thematic reasons.
I mentioned this way earlier, but if you need any help with translations/names/ideas about Arabic culture (that is if you plan on adding an arab village) then as a native arab I'd be thrilled to help :smile.gif:

I figured this would happen. I just updated to 1.0b on my laptop and then you release this 5 minutes later xD

I'd settle for some kind of program/tool that converts buildings to the mod format easier. :biggrin.gif:

That bug is fixed :wink.gif: And player houses will come in an update soon (and whatever reputation you are earning now will count for them).
It's true though that the Indian villages are currently less advanced than the Norman ones. I will add more content in further updates, but it will take time to match three months of adding stuff to the Norman ones.

Knock a torch down and replace it.
