Okay, so I turn the minecraft.jar into a .zip and open it. I have a folder called minecraft with all the classes in there. I download, the mod, and move ALL of it in there, replacing whatever it says I can replace. I delete the META file. However, minecraft still won't launch. Do I need the .jar folder AND the .jar itself?
Ok there's an easier way then going into your minecraft jar file and all that. Get TFC mod manager V16 and you open it with java. Put a mod in click finish modding and it works. Its made for minecraft.

No, he wasn't being rude. He was telling them the truth. New threads in this section are for released mods, not help.
