I am sorry, I might not have made myself clear: the old install works still. Since the mod is located in the mods folder (and files of it have not changed) it will already work once you install ModLoader. No redownload or reinstall required. (this will not be the case for some other mods though)
Mumble link is working, however i'm experiencing some bug: although its detecting from which side player is talking, the sound does not fade in distance. It is could be clearly heard after huge distances if listening player is directly facing the talking player.
Any ideas how could this be fixed?
from the readme:
- suggested Mumble settings (differing from defaults):
-- advanced option "Link to Game and Transmit Position" activated (restart after setting this option) -- Maximum Distance: 70m
-- Minimum Volume: 0%
-- untick "Attenuate applications by..." "while other users talk" and "while you talk"
I tried to get this to work with BuildCraft. Ether I can't figure out how to install it or it doesn't work with it (and it really should work since they are so very different). Any chance this mod will use Minecraft Forge?
This mod only needs ModLoader, I do not see the point of putting in an additional dependency to Forge, especially since it does not provide anything that can be used for this mod at this point, afaik.
As for compatibility with BuildCraft, I cannot imagine that it would interfere since BuildCraft uses Forge which needs ModLoader from what I read. We use ModLoader so that mods will not interfere with each other so it is pretty save to say that if a mod uses ModLoader it is usually compatible with other ModLoader mods.
That said, this mod also does not manipulate any classes, it only adds one. I doubt that the issue exists because of an incompatibility with BuildCraft or any ML-mod per se.
Right now installation consists of 3 steps:
install ModLoader
install the Mod
install Mumble (and configure if need be)
Installing the mod is creating a "mods"-folder in ".Minecraft"-folder (if it doesn't already exist) and unzipping the contents of the zip into "mods".
If you are still having trouble please post more details on what you have tried and what exactly makes you think it is not working. Any error messages or abnormal program behavior should be mentioned too. If you have it, post the contents of "ModLoader.txt".

I know every little about Java, I think the problem might be that BuildCraft requires you to remove META-INF. I would copy/pasta the exact error, but MC crashes too quick for me to manage it. I sent you a PM with some of the tools I built for installing both mods. My mumble installer isn't quiet "finished". You don't have to run my batch files, but you can review them and they are pretty well commented so you can tell what it does without running it.
This mod is dependent on ModLoader and for recompiling/reobfuscating MCP.
As long as ModLoader AND MCP do not support the 1.9-pre (or any) versions this mod will (probably) not either. You can always just try using the current mod version (and the newest ModLoader version) - maybe it will work, maybe it won't.
For the most current version of this mod please visit theskorm's fork of this project. https://github.com/TheSkorm/mod_mumblelink (usually he posts in here when it's ready)
As for updating this mod it's the same as with most other mods:
Notch updates Minecraft
Risugami updates ModLoader
the MCP guys update MCP
then TheSkorm updates MumbleLink (and posts here)
Currently this mod is pretty much stable usually all that is needed is recompiling and reobfuscating the java bits, no programming or digging into the code needed.
If you are testing the current mod's version with a newer Minecraft/ML and it works please let us know by posting here. Thanks :smile.gif:
Also: This mod is open source. If you feel like it go ahead and try to compile/reobfuscate the mod yourself - it might just work :cool.gif:.
Was going to compile against the beta release of MCP for 1.9pre5 but looks like pre6 has been released, so I think I might hold off until the final release.
I've had a server running for over six months and my paid host offered Mumble in with the server price or TS for an extra cost... Wonder what one I picked!
Looked it over (never used it before) and saw that MC wasn't in the native list of supported programs for positional audio and moved past my curiosity.
Got curious about my Mumble settings today and thought lets check if there is a plugin/mod out there...
All I can say is: Thank Notch you continued this as I'm really wanting to promote it to all the people on the server.
Hope you can update this to 1.0.0 soon as I have checked and Risugami is on the ball with ModLoader.
Keep up the good work, hope to test this soon.
Edit: I tried ML 1.0.0. ML seems to work fine, MumbleLink.class just causes a crash (as I suspected) so it would be good if it can be updated.
HINT: If you want to get notified about version updates via email check out this site http://mods.simplaza.net/ and register for mod_mumbleLink (click double arrow button on the left). Also lots of other mods to find there.
When ever this thread's title is updated with the latest minecraft version number the linked mod list will register this and send out emails to those that subscribed for notification. It is quite helpful if you want to get notified only when the new version is out instead of everytime someone posts in here.
Is this relating PURELY to support issues or have you stopped developing it any further?
I've got to say that I will be unhappy if the actual development is stopped...
This mod is stable, I see no need for further development. For 1.0.0 and 1.1 I did the recompiling/reobfuscating myself because I had some time on my hands. These 2 occasions however are exceptions and it does not mean that I can guarantee that I will be able to regularly update this mod when new MC versions are released.
I still visit the forums and will try to help in support requests (surprisingly there actually are almost none). But I am not guaranteeing updates, sorry.
This is where the community comes into play. Big thanks to those that jumped in and helped out in the past (theskorm, mvanbem)!

MumbleLink native files need to be at the correct locations.
