Dude this is pretty epic, we showed Jeb this :wink.gif:
In that case I might just switch the license to LGPL so that there are no licensing conflicts for ... you never know what :wink.gif:.
And thanks, and yes - mumble is pretty epic :biggrin.gif:.
hey I noticed when Mumble links to the game a message is displayed as "MinecraftLink linked." Not sure if that was intended or if "Minecraft linked." was.

Your right that might be better ... will be fixed in the next release.
Any way we can get rid of the modloader dependency?
The ModLoader facilitates the game hook for the constant update. So: I am not really planning to do it.
Why would you need that?

Anxiously awaiting a linux version!
Have you tried the Alpha version yet? It contains a library that was compiled under Ubuntu 10.10 32-Bit.
If you are up to it take the sources and try to compile the library your self (there is a make.sh already included), use the mod's Alpha Release and replace the .so-library with yours.
Ugh, what is wrong with you people? There is nothing wrong with modloader, installing it as a dependency for other mods does not hurt you or your computer, so why do you complain about not wanting it?

Because I know how to install mods, I don't need some gui to do it for me.

Just your friendly, neighborhood /r/Minecraft mod.

ModLoader isn't a GUI, it's a hook into the game for programmers so we can make our mods compatible with each other. It has no GUI.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: v2.0 will not work together with v1.x!!! Sorry! Those of you who are using 1.x should upgrade to 2.0 immediately otherwise you will not hear people with 2.0 positionally (and vise-versa)!
Change Log:
v2.0
- fixed internal data corruption
- added support for Ubuntu 10.10 32-bit (and possibly other distros)
- switched license from GPL to LGPL
Tested Platforms:
- Windows XP 64-bit SP2
- Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
- Ubuntu 10.10 32-bit
Remove build_* folders and run make.sh.
Running make.sh will (on success) create "build_linux32/libmod_MumbleLink.so" (32bit) and "build_linux64/libmod_MumbleLink_x64.so" (64bit).
Place the one that applies to you into your execution directory of minecraft (or into "~/.minecraft/bin/natives/mumbleLink").
Note: The script might throw errors because one version of the library could not be compiled (usually 64bit) - you should however check (in the locations mentioned above) if one was compiled and that one will probably work for you.
When running Mumble and then joining a minecraft server you should see "Minecraft linked" in the mumble chat-log after a few seconds.
And if it works please post your compiled libraries for they might help others :smile.gif:.
This looks like the problem occurs before mod_MumbleLink is even loaded. More precisely it appears to be a problem that occurs when ModLoader starts. The ZipException tells me that the minecraft.jar might be corrupted. This can be due to a problem related to the program that you are using to modify the jar. I am guessing that "Power Archiver" is messing up that file.
Please try 7-Zip as an alternative (its free).
Change Log:
v2.2
- updated for Minecraft beta 1.4 (+ MCP2.10 + ModLoader)
- fixed: starting order of Mumble vs Minecraft now does not matter
- added: optional feature: world dependent linking (for future use)
In that case I might just switch the license to LGPL so that there are no licensing conflicts for ... you never know what :wink.gif:.
And thanks, and yes - mumble is pretty epic :biggrin.gif:.

Because I don't want modloader, of course!
I'll try to compile it a bit later.

Exactly. It provides a programming interface (not a graphical interface) so that mods will not interfere with each other.

Thanks for the hint, updated that.
The current v2.0 includes a library compiled for Ubuntu 32 Bit and cross compiled for 64 Bit as well.
If you are looking for the sources I suggest you have a look at the repository again:
library sources as .tar.gz as found here
and if you are using svn look here: https://sourceforge.net/scm/?type=svn&group_id=515902
Remove build_* folders and run make.sh.
Running make.sh will (on success) create "build_linux32/libmod_MumbleLink.so" (32bit) and "build_linux64/libmod_MumbleLink_x64.so" (64bit).

As soon as it loads the world the game crashes with no error messages.
I've followed the instructions and downloaded the latest version of ModLoad (Which also happens to be updated and compatible with Minecraft 1.4)
Neither SMP or single player works.
