You should consider adding a property file to your gate mod allowing the id's to be changed and/or the gates diabled. Maybe someone only wants the wooden gate, and I'm sure people will need to change the id.
Ditto, I have a mining drill which lets me go down quite rapidly, an elevator would be great for my planned floating fortress going straight down to my mine. Now if I can only get that train to work...
Now if only the gates would behave like doors when placed next to each other...and maybe some HD textures, and it'd be perfect.
I'll look into this for the next iteration of the mod. I think I can make some magic happen so that I can detect if there are gates nearby and make them open accordingly. However, currently gates act EXACTLY as doors do as far as the logic goes, even when placed next to each other. They just LOOK different because gates are rendered in the middle of the block when closed (because of how fences are made) and on the edge of the block when open. Doors are rendered on the edge of block no matter what. If this doesn't make sense to you, take a second and Google minecraft double doors.
Just to let everyone know there is a conflict with the gate mod and Pixelkids redstone mod (The mod for bluestone). It's not a game breaking conflict and I dont mind because its the toggle torch and the timer torch that I use from Pixelkids redstone mod. But the Blue stone wire when laid down in conjunction to using this mod turns the blue stone into gates. Like I said this is not a big deal at all. I just wanted to point it out. Im not sure how many people even use the redstone mod by Pixelkids but I like it :tongue.gif:
Yet another reason a props file would be appreciated for the gates mod.
(no rush and I appreciate that you will be adding it in the next update)
I have been watching this for a while, for I am waiting on the elevator mod. Just wondering if that is still being worked on, or if it has been discontinued, in which case, could you upload the source so that another modder may pick it up.

There is a rare mythical button called "Search" that likes to answer questions; however, due to its nature, it often blends in with its surroundings so as to remain hidden.
I actually wouldn't mind seeing that Metal Detector mod updated. I'd suggest also using a compass, either one JUST to detect ores (a special one that detects all) or specific ore finding ones. :smile.gif:
I'm very interested to see how your elevator mod works!
