add a giant centipede add a giant centipeded add a giant centipede add a giant ... but seriously just add a giant centipede please :biggrin.gif:
As cool as it would be to get centipeded, I'm not ready to code something like that just yet. Long models don't fit in with the game because it's incredibly difficult to animate them well and bounding boxes don't work properly with them. For the same reason, snakes, worms, and other long-shaped creatures are too much of a challenge. There's only so much that the game's current engine can support. With some complex mathematics, it could be possible to link each body segment and animate and maintain them as separate entities, but tail physics are incredibly complex and I doubt that anyone but the best and most experienced of programmers would attempt to implement them. It could be possible, but chances are that the centipede would look like it was limply dragging each body segment behind itself, struggling to move its half-dead body across the ground.
One of them's basically a half-nude woman, though...
You get worse... *shakes head*
Not that I'm complaining. Actually, in reply to gnomeworks, these kinds of mods make me afraid of what the modding API will bring. On one hand, I will actually be able to use mods (macs are hard to install mods with), but lua scripting (such as the ones on the suggestions sub-forum) could potentially remove many aspects of creativity. I'm hoping to see a compromise between the two, but despite Notch's best intentions I'm not sure he'll manage it. Only time will tell, I suppose...

However that is for *easy* installs.. no one ever said that was the only way.. There is no "official" way of modding the game, yet people still do. I do not see how this could not be continued even if notch's preferred way is not optimal.

Heh, well as much as I'd like to blame it all on morality issues, I've seen proof otherwise. Notch once made an incredibly gory game where the core mechanic was to kill bunnies (url is broken now thanks to the Mojang.com renovation). So other than that, I don't see why modders should have their creativity limited by social rules. I took enough care to make sure the breasts were always censored by the hair, but really, it's just pixels. If you shoot down mods because of what they look like or because you don't think it's appropriate for kids to see it, then you're missing the point entirely. True mods are all about the fun they add to the game. I bet that if I reskinned these models or turned them into robots or something, I'd get an entirely different group of people interested in it, even though it does the exact same thing.
Female mobs are just my style, it's what I'm known for and it's how I gained a following. So I'm just doing what's tried-and-true. It's not my fault that some people are more likely to try mods based on appearance. In any case, dressing up a mod is fine in my books as long as you have the content to back it up. But even if a mod is fun to play, there are still times when we have to draw the line (sex mods, etc).
Oh... and I have my hopes for the official API, but if it's not up to my standards then I'll be sticking to the unofficial method and obfuscation. I need a certain amount of freedom, or else modding just isn't worth my time.
Nice mobs. One sexy, one ugly... a good balance! But you didn't tell us the flies would swarm you like pigmen if you punch one a few times!
Here are my suggestions for more bugs in order of importance:
Beetle. A medium-sized (fly-sized) bug which spawns in caves and at night. Hit it rapidly a few times to knock it over, then hit it before it flips back to kill it! A couple of different colors and a giant beetle would be amazing.
Cricket. A big ol' bug that jumps around. Imagine jumping on a giant cricket across a big gap!
Caterpillar: just a caterpillar that lives in the forest. Maybe he could make a cocoon and transform into a butterfly at some point?
Mantisyren: some kind of creepy chick which tries to bite or rip your head off. Sort of like a Succubus with insect traits.
Knowing you, you'd probably go for the last one: but I beg you, please make the beetle as well. It would be awesome.
Sorry, been playing too much mvc3. I had to say that.
BTW, maybe you probably should mention that this mod only works with modloader v4 in the title, Koda. There might just be a CHANCE in preventing a bunch of "OMG BLAKSCREENZ HELPZ!" posts.
Wow, this has left me speech less. Even though I would not use this mod, I still like it. The flies seem like a good addition to the game, just for atmosphere. But the broods, well, are just plain awesome. The ability to control spiders and flies is just, well, awesome. It cordinates an efficent army to destroy the player. You can't just run in and kill it before it kills you, just for the reason of it's not the issue. It's army is.
I thank you for giving the option to add a true challenge to minecraft.
Potential bug (no pun intended). I've seen up to 3 Spider Queens spawn in a nearby location. That proved to be an unbeatable fight so far.
Yeah, that's a first. I've fought dozens already since I last changed the spawning conditions, so I guess you either got really lucky, or installed Mo' Creatures or something. That mod increases the spawn rate of everything.
you want the world to be more fantasy but realisticly so.
Well, not even necessarily fantasy! MC has a weird low-fantasy post-apoc feel to it, in my mind, that lends itself to genre blending. I'm alright with the idea of running into sci-fi-flavored mobs in one area, and fantasy-flavored mobs in the next, or even mixed in with each other if it makes sense.
instead of having the same mobs that generate EVERYwhere. You want mobs that BELONG to their area, like knights and wizards to a castle, mummies and jackle headed warriors to the desert, and automated lazer turrets and robots to a high tech facility.
Yep, pretty much. Glad my message came across as intended.
I use the term fantasy very loosely, meaning anything that doesnt fit into nonfiction, basicly xD
As far as the post-apoc goes, it would have to be a bit of a guessy guessy situation. but more than likely its going with zombie invasion of some sort, possibly something that started in the nether, which means maybe demons and such wouldnt be very unlikely to run across while on the surface realm. hrm... i may go to a discussion board to ponder the ideas xD
ANYWAY my long awaited but much needed applause to KodaichiZero. (btw i like what you did with your avi pic x3)
You made another great mod, this definitely goes into my maybe folder.. i haven't decided if i want it or not. my MC is pretty full as it is xD so im not certain. (that and i dont like the flies... But none the less your work is always appreciated, because now i have the option to have them, so thank you for that :biggrin.gif:) You should make long forgotten monsters and guardians that would serve on their own terrain. Ofcoarse i know your next mod will be an unexpected one, as usual. Keep up your good work!

Okay so I've been issued 2 board warnings and banned 1 time. But I know there are alot more bad people out there who constantly post in spam threads, so I'm not a loner
I agree
Lol dude, I don't care about that. I just call 'em like I see 'em. THIS is the Beelzebub from Ragnaork Online, the one I'm basing my assumptions on: http://ratemyserver.net/mob_db.php?mob_id=1874&small=1&back=1
