Have you ever wanted to build something, you just don't have the sufficient space because of mountains and sea getting in the way?
Well with the land flattener you can! With it you can make a 80x80 square of flatness! That should be enough space for any device of any size!
How to install:
1. Put all the files in the classes folder into minecraft.jar.
2. Put the properties folder in the .minecraft directory. THIS IS NOT MINECRAFT.JAR!
3. (optional) You can change the id of the block/item and the texture of the block in the Net-chest.properties file (located in properties).
Change log:
v1.0: Released mod
v1.1: Added customisable hardness (and you can now destroy blocks) and now with added flatness (removes mountains too :tongue.gif:, you don't get the items though)
Thank you for reading this, I hope you download it and use it. If you come across ANY errors with this mod, please post below. Again thanks!
Note: You may get some lag shortly after placing, however it shouldn't last for too long.
You also cannot destroy these blocks (they have the same resistance and hardness as bedrock), but this may change.
Also make sure dont place it straight down, and the second you put it down jump or you may drown in dirt.

well tried it and it is pretty useful, thing is your props file dosent change the id and you should clarify that it adds a layer of dirt 80 x 80 and does not really flatten :tongue.gif:
Adjustable flatness would be nice too
i mean
i dont want to damage the "natural beauty" of my save game and interfere with some of my other buildings :tongue.gif: otherwise sounds pretty cool

Do you mean like so it has mountains in it?

Check if you can walk on it (or target it). I noticed this when testing it, its just because it updates so fast it doesn't have time to render it all, and can sometimes take some time to render.

I can walk on it, yeah and it does have the selection box around it. I saved, went back in, still no render. What I found amusing was the creeper that was on fire.
I was wondering what that was :tongue.gif: Give it time and it should render. It did with me at least. Actually if you close and open minecraft it should clear the cache and be normal.

Update! Adjustable hardness + added flatness . Also now that it can be destroyed by hand (but not by tnt unless you have a lot of it) if you get a bug like Omnomnom24 had, just destroy one of the blocks in the area and it should update the graphics so it won't be buggy.

heres some diamonds though
The properties file does work (well it works for me), Ive just tested it now (well with MCP). If there are any errors with the format it will set them all to the default values (BlockID - 118, ItemID - 374, Texture - 3, Hardness - 0.5). Ill test in actual minecraft in a second.

sounds like a simple mod if u want me to change it so it spawns grassy dirt but that would spawn sooooo many animals
looks good nice easy formula and not too unrealistic for a mod not like more advanced destruction system (MADS)

do you really read these. well then look at the actual post and not these
Interesting approach. I think I'll hold out until someone makes a bulldozer though as I want more control and more work involved... just more convenience too.
this mod is sweet!!! i really like that you made it take down mountains and stuff
would it be possible to add in different seize of flatterers? like have one that will do a 10x10 or 20x20 or whatever, an 80x80 area is a bit huge for some things i would like to use it for
