I installed the mod using method one and..it worked! For a while, not whenever I try to place a portal then another portal, they both disappear as soon as there are twoportals in existence... What should I do?
What confuses me is that it was working perfectly for a while, now it simply quit!

Something I've experienced as well. Try closing out and restarting minecraft. Usually solves the problem, at least for a little while.
Is there an incompatibility with forge or Equivalent Exchange?
I can use portals without crashing, but some items I try to place, say, an aerial faith plate or a portal spawner, don't show up.
It takes up space, but I can't see it.
Edit: also, the 128x textures seems to have some misnamed files. Portals are stuck on default textures.
If they ever merge this with the cctv mod so that you can see through the portals... It would be EPIC!

i had a problem when i tried to run it on my server.I put the vanilla files and modloadermp files into my minecraft_server.jar file and run it but when i tried to log in it said something like bad packet id 230 or something,whats wrong with it?
I did everything, but the game crashes after the
mojang logo, Which stays up for longer than normal. A message does come up, but the game closes before I can read it. I'm doing this on Windows, if thats important.
I really like this mod, i tested it out in creative and found a bug. i built the guns i didnt just spawn them. i built both the blue and the orange one like the ones you get in survival. i fired the orange one then fired the blue one and the portals disappeared. i reset my game and tried again this time only with the blue gun. worked fine. then i tried it with the orange gun problem came back and i couldnt use either gun because the portals kept disapearing as soon as i shot the second one, or if i jsut shot one and waited a few seconds the portal would disappear.
I have used this in SSP at first it worked fine, but i made the mistake of building that orange gun since both of the "Mysterious Substances" have the same name and i cant tell wich one is wich. as soon as i fired the orange gun they portal guns wont work together anymore. they cancel each others portals out.... its very disconcerting.
Also i wanted to see if that happened with all the guns in creative. so i tested it the other guns worked fine so long as i only used the First gun of the group. Anything you think you can help with?
Okay, everybody complaining about the "portals don't link" and the "portals go away as soon as I step on them", did you g to a different dimension (The nether, by any chance?) and it started doing this? If not, did you shoot a portal and travel a ways away and tried to shoot a new one to link to that one?
To avoid this issue, make sure to reboot the gun before you enter a new dimension. Also make sure to not travel too far away. If it starts randomly doing this and you didn't travel to a new dimension or the portal isn't in an unloaded chunk, try re-installing the mod or starting from a clean Jar and adding your mods until you get this error. The mod that adds this problem is the mod you'l have to live without.
The only way that this issue could be fixed would be to make the portal gun reset the portals as soon as you got a certain distance away from them, or make the portal sense that the chunk got unloaded and automatically delete itself in the save file.
Would it be possible to let users disable block registration by setting their ID to zero in the config file? Or could you use dmg values for the block IDs? 8 blocks IDs is a lot for one mod :sad.gif:

After installing Modloader and deleting Meta-inf Folder, Run minecraft to create the folders.
Create a mods folder if there is none. I don't know what to do about the resources, but if you really had none, you wouldn't have any sounds.
