I love you so much for this update. I honestly don't play minecraft much any more. But I'm downloading this mod just because your baby's are the best!!!!!!!
No, if there are babies spawning, then the mod is working. I'm probably going to need to fiddle with the spawning settings, as this was not a problem before vanilla changed so much.
The vanilla babies are just scaled down adults with timers in them, kind of like popcorn in a hot pan. They don't have their own models or entities like my mod does. I haven't yet found a way to tell the game to use my models instead and then switch when they 'pop' (but I am still trying). Also, it will require replacing vanilla code and won't be as compatible with other mods that change the animals. So, if I do finally succeed, I'll make it a separate mod from this one.
I love this mod i'll be chopping down a tree or strolling through a forest and suddenly awww a puppy or a lamp or piglet or baby cow XD your babies are so adorable i have about 14 puppies and 3 white lambs a black and a grey lamb too i almost had a brown one but it walked into a fire and died :sad.gif: mega sad

help me grow and give a click please (I'm just a tiny little thing)
Hello there, I am not displaying the babies they way they should, they still look the same way they looked before the installation of the mod.
Do I have to edit the configuration file?

If you're talking about the vanilla babies, they're not the same as baby animals from this mod:
It works alongside the vanilla babies, so you can have both if you want! Mine will not mob you if you are holding wheat and they will not breed the way the vanilla animals do.

What summonercat said. Also, my baby animals spawn naturally in the world so to get started you have to go out looking for them, they are not born from the vanilla adults. Once you've brought home one of the mod babies, you can raise it to a mod adult (they have different textures and behavior than the vanilla adults) and use miracle potions to get more babies.
It used to be more natural before the vanilla breeding was added :tongue.gif:

One thing you might consider.... in many of my worlds, without allowing baby animals to auto-mature, I go a loooong time before I can find an egg to make the cake to grow up my own egg-laying chicken. Full grown chickens are hit or miss in each world setup, and so animal farming has a long wait before you can get really going with it. I'm not sure how to solve that problem. I don't know if it was an issue back in 1.7.3, but I'd think it wasn't, because in 1.7.3, you just had to wait for the cycling animal spawns to get you some chickens. You didn't have to hunt them across 7 or so biomes. I wouldn't call this a bug, but just wanted to call it to your attention that farming is a good bit harder to get started than it was in the previous mod if the player doesn't enable animals to auto-mature.
I'm so happy to see this mod updated. I have a lot of mob mods, but my little farm still didn't feel complete until I got this one. Now I'm gonna make a hen coop, stables and field all over again.
I know this probably isn't possible without editing the base code, or making an override code, but maybe make it to where instead of having these big headed baby animals, adult animals give birth to these instead? They would be untamed. And maybe implement the new breeding, but tamed animals have more of a chance for twins or triplets. I think this would be fun.
All ModLoader-only mods normally work together unless you get too many blocks :biggrin.gif:
Check out my texture pack
Aaaaaaawwww!
Can't you just use DrZhark's custom spawning mod??

That way the babies will spawn and despawn properly again :ohmy.gif:

Oh, ok. So how do I make it so that the game use the new ones from the mod instead?

Have you modded older versions of Minecraft? If so, having any old mods in the .minecraft/mods folder will make the game freeze on startup.
