Well, I guess I should introduce myself, this being my mod thread. I am a programmer/modder/ROM hacker known as Shiny Quagsire. I've made other accomplishments elsewhere with my programming, though it's not likely you know me. I'm not too active on forums, but I will answer to my thread often. No, I'm not some college student learning java who decided to mod because he has spare time. I'm open to any suggestions, as long as they are realistic. I'm terrible at finding ideas, so if you have a good one, just tell me. Now let's get down to business!
Pre-Requisite Links
These are the mod(s) my mods use, and are required to run.
Alternative Installation Instructions
This only works for Bread Extentions and the Mining Drill mod. Be sure you you have ModLoader installed, or this won't work. To install, go to you .minecraft/mods directory, and drop off the downloaded ZIP file. It should now have the mod installed. Uninstallation is easier than ever, simply delete the zip file and it's gone! Installation via this method only works if the ZIP doesn't have a modified Minecraft class.
Mining Drill Block 1.8.1
This block is a block used to mine straight in any direction and return the mined items in the hopper. It's great for cobblestone collection or making pitfall traps for whatever. To use it, click the block and a menu will open up. Choose the direction, add some coal, and your good to go! When it's done and if you've mined down, it creates a stone slab underneath to prevent falls.
The mining drill now uses a GUI menu, as you can see:
Not only is there a built in hopper collector, the GUI also features direction choosing. Up, down, left, right, vertical up, and vertical down, the default. Useful for when your stuck underground, lost and cold. Just whip out your mining drill, switch your direction to vertical up, and your out in no time! You can use the mined resources to fill back the hole and get up or use ladders if you wish. Or if you want a lot of stone, you can go underground and mine left, right, up or down, and you'll get more stone, less dirt. The ideas go on and on!
Recipes:
Be sure to use a fresh pickaxe, otherwise it won't work:
Install Instructions:
Install like any normal mod. Place the MineDrill.properties in the .minecraft directory and adjust the block IDs as needed, if needed.

Source Code Packages
Unfortunately, I don't have as much time on my hands as I'd hoped when I started these mods. To create a compromise between dumping the mods and continuing them at the expense of my time, I'm releasing my source code to the public. If the first source package goes well, more will be added. I may decide to continue with the mod, and others may too. I may let the public update the mod while I make something else. Who knows?
I've decided to use This Suggestion in my next mod. I was thinking it'd work like this:
You'd craft asphalt (In some way, open to suggestion), and craft a car (Also open to suggestion.) The car can drive anywhere, but it works the fastest on asphalt. The asphalt is most likely going to be crafted from gravel (So I don't have to incinerate it,) possibly through another block like the furnace or a custom one.
So, love it? Hate it? Have suggestions? Please post if you do.

This is pretty cool! I LIKES TOASTED SAMICHES. anyways i was thinking you could make some new flowers or something, shouldnt be too hard i dont think, take the code from the normal flowers change the dye that you would normally get from it to the color of the flower.
1. Steal red flower code
2. re texture to cyan!
3.change the id for red dye into the idea for cyan dye. done?
There seem to be an awful lot of thirteen year olds running around on this forum. Congratulations on your molding expertise. I myself, coincidentally also being thirteen, don't know the first thing about nodding minecraft!
Would you accept my offer of making your simple bread mod compatible with the Gerudoku texture pack?

I'll try and do that. That'd be an easy mod, and I might add to the flowers, maybe adding others like marigolds and such.

I believe it should be compatible, since the textures aren't in items.png, but in it's own files.

Ooh, cool stuff here. I do really like the asphalt idea, but I'm not fond of cars. Feel free to add them, a mod is a mod is a mod, but definitely make it it's own mod.

I love the tree saplings mod, and I'd love to further support you with the apple mod, but could you get rid of the golden apples, or make an option to get rid of the golden apple drop?
I think it's kind of cheap, and unrealistic.

Yeah, I haven't been too fond of it either now. They're actually rarer than you think. I've only come across one and I've been using the mod for about two months. But yeah, I think I'll start adding properties files now.
