I'd really love if there were a version of the hookshot that didn't zip you toward the target (You swing, and to climb you have to hold the climb key)
There's the Grappling Hook, but its physics don't work as well, and doesn't work with dual-wield.
try backing up your saves/texture packs, then deleting the .minecraft folder. Maybe reinstalling will help.
Ok, so I deleted the folder .minecraft.
Downloaded minecraft again.
Put the modloader class files in minecraft.jar
Put the spikes class files and pictures in minecraft.jar
Put the mod_spikes.properties in the bin folder.
Still get black screen.
My computer runs windows 7 and I just bought it, this is madness :/
Can you get the spikes to work with the Pistons? I tried attaching them to a block that is pushed but they fly off.
Done. Redownload and there should be a folder with an alternate BlockSpike class. Install that one. It has the drawback of not breaking the spike when you break the block it was attached to, sort of like fences.

I have two questions about this:

2) If a spike is pushed by a gold piston, will it be pulled back?
I am trying to think up some mob traps, but pistons don't squish mobs...

Well for some reason you can't place spikes directly on pistons... but if you put the spikes on blocks, break the blocks, and then replace the blocks with pistons it will work. I might just go ahead and take out the check code and let you place spikes literally anywhere...
And yes the spikes will retract if they come into contact with a current. However remember that the extended part of the piston does not carry a current. I did successfully create a trap with a 2x2 of golden pistons with spikes on them on either side of a 2x2 walkway. When you walk past they will push forward, and when you walk out they will pull back, and none of the spikes retract.
Alright, I've narrowed down the Boomerang bug a little:
- It only seems to happen with the Diamond Boomerang
- It only seems to happen with Pigs that were transformed by Lightning
It still hits faraway and multiple mobs.
Attacking a mob of 5 Transformed Pigs, the boomerang would hit one, but all 5 would take damage.
Also, I would hit one with it, and I would get Wool from Sheep that were too far away to reach, as well as Feathers/Arrows/Gunpowder/Ink Sacs from dead mobs, even though I was above ground during the day, and the were no other mobs in sight.
Bounceback when hitting mobs was on, everything else was off. Boomerang Range was set to 50 and Stun Length was at 75, if it makes a difference.

I found out that the Mod_spikes, causes my minecraft to Blackscreen, any ideas? I've tried with both of the Block.class files. Both of them causes blackscreen, is there any way to get my minecraft folder checked for errors, so that i can link the error report?
In .minecraft, there should be a file called ModLoader.txt. If your minecraft crashed then somewhere in that file should be the error report which looks something similar to the image you posted.

i have seen that you have made things from adventurecraft and i want you to make more items! heres my req:
GUNS!
gun nr 1: a singleshot flintlock derringer(i have the texture!)
gun nr 2: a 6 shot revolver(i have the texture!)
gun nr 3: a shotgun(i have the texture!)
gun nr 4: a old fashion sniper(i can MAKE the texture)

I was just wondering do dynamic light work for the duel wield mod? i have tired to get it in but they both have the gh.class so they brake eachother
