i have been trying to follow this thread, but i can't seem to understand how to use minecraft extended... does the mod creator have to update his mod, or do i make the mod work, or does it do everything itself? sorry noob here :smile.gif:
You still may have to edit block ID for mods that conflict if the moder provides a .props or .propertyless file it's easy to do for the most part once your know what to look for and your take the time to examine a crash report from modloader. Normally there are only 255 block ID's available and I thing the game uses something like 95 of them. So If you have installed many mods in the past you may have discovered that there are no free block id's left. Also when it comes to importing graphics to the game there was only so much space on the terrain.png for new textures. So this mod extends that limit so you can have practically unlimited mods installed. You still may have to edit a few ID's in .props files so you can get everything to run. But now you can use block ID's over 255 and this loaded the extra graphics to an auxiliary .png file. So, do you make the mod work? Sort off. Yes and no. Do you need to know java? No. Do you need to now how to trouble shoot installing multiple mods to some small degree? Yes and no. Yes because you need to know, and No because there are people here who will help you.
I have taken a stock Minecraft jar and installed ModLoader 1.5_01v3, PReader, and Minecraft Extended 0.5 in that order. I deleted the META-INF and I still get a black screen. Any ideas?
EDIT: Nvm. The version I downloaded was not up to date.
IndustrialCraft+PlasticCraft+Millenaire+Humans+Planes+.....everything is ok now
but seems not working with HD Texture patch...not a serious problem to me
The world is loaded, mods are working (there are a few bugs, but they should disappear after the update mods).
In the game there are sharp drop FPS(after loading all chunks), sharply move the mobs.

FPS drop is a known issue. Looking into ways to fix it though

Launch with command line and get an error. Search for Minecraft Simple Error Test on google. You should find one. Just fake your log in if you are worried about your password
So, um, can you give some more specific instructions on how to make a mod compatible with Minecraft Extended? I read the OP, but didn't find any.
Thanks in advanced!
Sprites are now on the fly meaning modders don't have to add anything extra to use new sprites. The only part that modders need to change to use is the Render hooks.

thanks for your great work, Mr. Smith
I've actually found a fix to Minecraft's tendency to no longer respond when loading a world with Minecraft extended installed and HD textures applied.
The solution is thus: the png images in the ExtraTerrains folder, when installed, must share the same canvas size as the terrain.png as your desired texture pack.
For example, the default canvas size is 256x256 pixels. If you want to use a 32x32 texture pack, change the ExtraTerrains images to 512x512. 64x64 textures require 1024x1024 canvas sizes, and so on.
When I managed to play a world with HD textures, the only potential issue I could see would be occassional patches of invisible terrain, but these didn't persist for any longer than fractions of a second. No real problems really.
And by the way, smith_61, you are truely a great person for developing this mod. Keep up the great work! Thank you.
Is it possible to install this on a modded Minecraft? Because the first time I did it worked, and now it blackscreens on me, though thats not really strange with +20 installed mods
What could cause the blackscreen?
EDIT: Ah, and could you also please update the sulpher and the large furnace mods? They sound awesome!

i couldnt get this to work at first, but i wanted it soo badly i tried absolutely everything. The thing that got it to work is get a fresh minecraft jar and put in only modloader. After that put in minecraft extended and then all of your mods. Don't know why this worked but it did.
And on behalf of all the fps issues i also had a nasty one. I suggest getting optimine and or optifog these helped bump my fps enough for the lag to become less noticeable.
At the time of this post optimine and optifog are incompatable, get 1 and wait for the other to update
Notice: Minecraft Extended does not play nice with old worlds, youd best make a new world unless you want random chunk load errors everywhere.

I hope you are joking as this is quite possibly the dumbest idea ever in the history of mankind.
