Is the transfer over to the new version easy, Advize?
Now that betterlight is built into the game, the block rendering class has probably received some significant changes. Luckily, this mod is actually simple enough that it shouldn't be too hard to update.
I currently don't plan to update this until the new version of MCP is released (sorry but it's so much easier to work with and I'm very sick right now), plus, my decompiler seems to be on the fritz. If anyone else wants to update this, I'd be happy to help them out. Just send me your questions via PM.
Any plans to merge this with BetterGrass, or make an optiminer and optiminer+BetterGrass compatible version?
This is compatible with both Bettergrass and Optimine, but it's not yet compatible with beta 1.3_01.
yeah I was talking about 1.2_02. But how did you get it to work? all three use the bt.class.
The MrM Patcher can patch the optiminer classes, but SideGrass overrides the the files from the patcher.
The Fix in SideGrass is only for the Vanilla BG not the optiminer BG.
Or was I missing smething?
PS: doesn't really matter because of new versions.
If you're a minimalist, all you'll need from risugami's fix is the bw.class and terrain.png
I am using it, but i dont like it, this sidegrass texture mod has more options and can support more stuff. One example is that the edge of the grass,(The brown like thing seperating dirt from grass.) either cant be there or has to be there and also change colors. Thats why i like this better as i can have it as it were supposed to be,

I agree with Sirolu. The simpleness of this mod kicks to crap out of the ModLoader version; too many class files and whatnot for only one thing I really want. I'll hope and wait for you, Advize, or Coupon22, to update this one. I, we, appreciate this simple one. Thanks btw.
Aside from what was mentioned about it not working and looking the best, yours was one simple class file. I have to use all 15 ModLoader files (unless I'm mistaken), when all that is really needed is the biome-side fix. So basically, yours kicked ass :smile.gif:
What exactly do you dislike about Risugami's fix? If someone could make a list for me I'll do my best to make a version that pleases everyone.
Your mod has 1 texture separated onto 2 texture but risugami only uses the sidegrass grass texture and made it overlap the dirt texture so its missing some details and i even updated the grass for his mod to the best of my ability and it still looks odd

@ Sword_Frog: I've yet to really play minecraft beyond loading a world once to see if the fix worked. I'll try risu's fix with custom textures and see if I have the problem you're talking about.
Edit: I see what you're talking about. Because the two textures used are just the greyscale grass and the dirt texture, the outline of the grass blades on the usual sidegrass texture is missing. You could try to include this outline in the greyscale grassblades texture, but it would be affected by biome colouring and still look a little weird. I'll update altimor's version of the mod either tonight or tomorrow morning.

I was fiddling with colors that would look like the original with the green color from the grass and i chose a darkish orange cuz the green and the orange kinda make a brownish but its not perfect...
EDIT*
If you could somehow alter risugami's to instead made the sidegrass on dirt to make it sidegrass texture overlapping the bottom part of the snow texture so the detail in the sidegrass wouldn't have a greenish tint like this roughly drawn picture
It's incompatible with ModLoader mods.
Mod Archive
Edit: I will try to update this. Download link soon.
I hope this gets updated for 1.3_01 soon but for mods there's usually a mandatory 3 day waiting period after an update for the mods to be updated
I took it upon myself to update the terrain.png from the update

Here is a link to the 1.2_02 version of Optimine: http://mod.ifies.com/f/110123/Optimine_1.2_02v3.zip
You'll find 6 files in that archive, none of which are named bt.class.
Installation order: Optimine - MrM's patcher - sidegrass fix. Enjoy :smile.gif:
