Now that MC 1.3 is out, I'm really missing Manyaglyph. Any chance the mod is modded for 1.3?
I'm missing it just as much as you are. I'm kind of waiting for MCP to update, but if that doesn't seem to be happening in the near future, I might take a stab at working with the obfuscated files. Don't worry, though, it will be updated. I feel really weird playing in 2D. XD
OK! I've updated to 1.3_01, check it out in the OP. I haven't fixed any bugs (namely, weird menus in Crosseye mode) from the last test version, the only change is the ordering of the modes.
Gah... Really want to get this so 3D will look better, but i just get a black screen every time i try to launch minecraft with it installed (using TFC's mod manager) As soon as i hit login, it hits a black screen.
When I launch minecraft I just get a black screen and nothing else.
Can anybody help me with that?
No clue, i get the same thing... tell me if you figure it out.
Having not had any problems with the mod myself, all I can really tell you to do is delete the META_INF folder in Minecraft.jar, and perhaps refer you to this post.
If you are attempting to run it alongside other mods, there is a very good chance that it is conflicting with one or more of them. The anaglyph code is so spread out, it's impossible to mod without affecting a large number of classes (10, to be exact).
I hope you are able to get it working, and am sorry I could not be of more help.
EDIT: Another idea would be to perhaps try it without the mod manager. There are a number of reports of compatibility issues with Minecraft 1.3 in the manager's forum thread.
um3k;
You've done amazing. I love the TroiScopics3D magenta/green. Works perfect with my glasses and the color settings remove all but the most persistent of ghosting (Bright spots in dark areas end up ghosted with ANY anaglyph regardless of any effort on anyone's part.) Wonderful job.
Iverie: My apologies. I wasn't sure whether anyone actually had that kind of glasses. If they are paper glasses, could you perhaps wear them backwards? If not I'll go ahead and add them back in, I'm just trying to conserve slots, as I either have to limit it to 8 modes (including off), or extend it to 16, and I know I would have trouble filling that. I kind of wanted to save the last slot for a quad buffered 3D mode, but I don't know if I'll ever get around to figuring that out. :wink.gif:
RinArenna: Thanks! Glad it works well for you. :smile.gif:
sn0re: I don't know what to tell you. I haven't had any problems getting it to work, so I don't really know any solutions. All I can say is read over the thread, and hope someone more knowledgeable than I can help you.
On a different note, I've decided to overhaul the mod. I'm going to increase the number of options to 16, including cross-eyed and parallel 3D. I'm also going to attempt to reorganize the code, so all the anaglyph calculations are stored in one class file, which is called when anaglyph mode used. This should simplify updates and modifications somewhat. I also want to add a custom mode that loads the settings from an external text file, if I can figure out how to do that. I think I have it all figured out in my head, now it is a matter of execution.
Hmm. I have a pair of Red+Green 3D glasses, which mode do you think would work best with them? The yellow-blue anaglyph worked best with them on the front page, but I feel like there might be something better.

Logically, red-cyan would be the most appropriate. I doubt you are getting any 3D effect when viewing the yellow-blue, since the red and green channels represent the same viewpoint. Red-green isn't very well suited for computer monitors in general, due to imperfections in the glasses and monitor that allow a lot of red through the green filter and vice-versa. In the next version I will be adding a red-green mode, but the calculations are guesswork on my part since I don't have a way to test.

Wow, tried the cross eye 3d and LOVE it. No noticable performance hit either, very nice job.
Thanks! I'm finding this to be an effective way to force some degree of programming knowledge into my head. I mean, I may never know how to do "Hello, World!" in Java, but at least I can do something.

Is it actually bad for you to use the cross-eyed mode for prolonged periods of time? :<
I don't think it will cause actual injury, but it'll probably cause eye strain/headaches/eyes temporarily stuck crossed. I recommend taking plenty of breaks.

Id would love it if you could also make it work for RealD 3D Glasses they are like sunglasses which you can get in the Cinemas for 3D movies :tongue.gif: Thats why I have them also xD they dont hurt your eyes so thats a plus :tongue.gif:
Sorry, not going to happen. It just isn't possible.
Crossing your eyes for long periods of time will not cause any permanant harm. Like any skill, you just need to get better at it, eventually, you'll be able to cross your eyes at will and with no pain at all, I can play minecraft like this for hours and feel no pain and go back to regular no problem. The only thing I hate about it is the fact that you see 3 images no matter what, so I came up with a solution. I used some cardboard I got from a case of Dr. Pepper, some tape, and 2 large paper clips to make Cross-Eye 3D Blocker Glasses (patent pending :tongue.gif:). I'll post pics of it and instructions if any one wants them. Basically, they block the corners of your eyes and force them to cross to the middle. Gets rid of the 3 images effect AND makes it easier to focus on the important center image.
Awesome mod, however, I was wondering if it would be possible for you to add another color style to your mod. I'm currently using Trioviz's INFICOLOR glasses which are very similar to Trioscopic glasses, but slightly tweaked and reversed colors.
All right! I've uploaded a new test version of the mod, try it out and let me know what is broken.
The main thing I am curious about is the quad buffer mode, I have no way of testing and therefore have no idea whether it is even close to being functional. I'm leaning towards no. If you have this capability, please test it and let me know what happens.
Hah! I gotta test cross-eyed 3D!! :biggrin.gif:
I bet i'll throw up on my keyboard or my eyes will fall off because I bet it will hurt after couple of minutes even if eyes were relaxed.
Awesome thought! Great job :smile.gif:
EDIT: Tested and works well! And eyes didn't hurt while playing (when eyes are relaxed you don't need to keep eyes crossed) but after that I felt a bit dizzy. Now MC looks a bit boring without 3D :'(

how did i excatly make it to do cross eye? I see only the colors, but no cross eye
Make sure you download the file at the top of the OP, that's the most up-to-date.

And cycle through the options, cross-eye mode is the last one, after all the color options.
