This mod will add several things to the game including Magic, Runes, and Runecrafting. Magic will can be used for battle purposes, but also for doing things like smelting/cooking food, mining, and teleportation. Runes will fall into different categories depending on their use such as elemental runes or missile runes. And runecrafting will be done at alters that are created by the player.

If your game crashes before you see the text to post the error, go to .minecraft and open modloader.txt and paste the contents of this. 9 times out of 10 the error will be in logged here!
Warning: if you use this mod on an existing world you will have to explore new areas for the magic essence to appear. And once it has spawned in your world you will no longer be able to take this mod off without minecraft crashing when you enter an area with spawned magic essence.
Block And Item IDS
This mod has a .properties file that appears after you run the mod for the first time, it is located at .minecraft\mods\Evrito\ModMagic_Core.properties, to modify this file open it with notepad. By default this mod uses blocks 130-140, and items 7000-7005 and 7050-7054.

V 2.0 Additions
Spell crafting will now yield 4 spells instead of 2.
Magic Essence's hardness has been halved.
Altars only break down less.
Magic Essence has a higher vein size.
Dead Strike Altars will now turn back into Strike Altars when Magic Essence is used on it.
Magic Essence
This is a mineable material that is used in the creation, and recharging, of runecrafting alters. This material gives off a glow and be in between the commonness of iron and redstone.
Blank Runes
These are at the core of runecrafting and magic, they have the ability to become empowered by magical energy from altars and runes. To craft them:
Basic Runes
Basic runes consist of the elemental runes: fire, earth, air, and water. These runes are created by energizing them at altars.
Strike Runes
Strike Runes are used to create strike spells, strike spells can be used to attack enemy mobs.
Basic Rune Altars
These can be used to create runes when using blank runes with the alter. With each rune you craft there is a 5% chance that the altar will become uncharged. It will quit emitting light and you will no longer be able to craft runes. To recharge the altar hit it with magic essence!
MageCrafting
MageCrafting is used to create spells that you can cast!
Strike Spells
These are basic attack spells that can be used like arrows.

looks awsome! i'd also like to see more types of runes, and i was thinking that if i would get into modding i could do this but it would be rad if you could fuse the runes to make more powerful runes and you could have a magic book giving some rune fusing combos.

I did plan on doing some rune fusing type things to make less basic elemental runes. I might make a spell book that gives basic spell combinations when I make more runes.

EditEdit: Just noticed that the light from the magic essence eliminates the usage of the glowblock thing from nether.
Lol, I plan on having the missle runes and at least one or two spells done by the middle of next week. And the magic ess does kinda glowstone a bit less useful, but i plan on making altars wear down, so the have to be recharged with magic ess.
I do plan on changing the artwork and such for the runes once I get all the main parts coded. And I am thinking about a differentish way to make runes but I for one kind of like the alter idea. Thanks for the comments everyone
Maybe, you could make it like the cheesemaker, where once you use it for a rune, it becomes empty, and you have to refill it with magic essence? Each time that you used it, it would make up to five runes before draining. Just to keep it balanced, you know?
here are my suggestions for spells/runes a wind fly spell, a breath under water spell, a 10 second sunlight fire spell, a few seconds of mining super fast earth spell, and a 5 seconds of invincibility earth spell
