It works great on Peaceful! When your hunger slips down to the yellow stage ("hungry"), the passive health regeneration is disabled. So don't go jumping off any cliffs when you're hungry, there's consequences now!

Aw, consequences for peaceful mode... how cute! :biggrin.gif:
I'm probably going to start using this mod for my new series. I'm trying to make it as "realistic" as possible, giving me self numerous challenges to overcome (hard mode, mo creatures, 1 life, hunger) and make it interesting. Link to it is in my signature.

question. how do you update it, and how do you delete it. when i tried to it gave me a black screen since my old eu.class was deleted.

I am the bone of my sword
Steel is my body, and fire is my blood
I have created over a thousand blades
Unknown to death, Nor known to life
Have withstood pain to create many weapons
Yet, those hands will never hold anything
So as I pray, Unlimited Blade Works
Maybe I'm completely missing something, still new to mods, but I can't find this hunger.ini file you keep referencing to change the hunger time. I really like the idea, glad someone capable of modding thought of it too, but I'd like to be able to play around with the timing to find a good balance. Anyone able to help?

Hi. It's in .minecraft\mods\Xie
Thanks! And just as a tip for anyone else using Dante80's Albion texture pack, I noticed when using MC Patcher to use the textures, it got rid of the hunger mod. Not sure if it does this with any texture pack, but you just have to drag the folders over into minecraft.jar again.
I had to stop using Cooking since that bork'd the whole game but now when I try connecting to a server with the newest version of Hunger I get this crash;

If you do choose to implement thirst, using a bowl is the most logical way. Bowls are easily crafted from materials that are readily available in a new world and always the first priority for collection as well. Buckets of water already have a right-click function, but the only right-click function for a bowl (of mushroom stew) is to eat it. Coding in the ability to right-click water sources/running water and fill a bowl (without taking the source block away like a bucket) wouldn't be difficult; just copypasta and edit the code for getting milk from a cow :]
For a slightly more extreme version, fresh water causes health damage if consumed (or even health damage + more hunger due to throwing up), and the bowl of fresh water must be smelted into a bowl of purified water to be safely consumed. :biggrin.gif: In this version, right-clicking on fresh water with bare hands would be the same as drinking fresh water out of a bowl, minus the step of filling the bowl up first.
Hunger mods are always a difficult balance. If you make the starvation time realistic, you have to create increasing levels of weakness as the bar gets lower, but allow the bar itself to be replenished rapidly by eating (the weakness takes more time to wear off). I think 1-2 Minecraft days till starvation begins is fine. The Sims series works that way, and I've never *unintentionally* killed a sim via starvation :smile.gif:
There is a bowl of water already implemented with Nandonalt's Ice Maker. Since your respective mods already work well together, perhaps you could "appropriate" that and add the ability to drink from it as well as make ice from it?
Sry for being a newbie to the forums but i have been installing mods for quite a while now but the fd.class in the mod classhes with Zombes flymod and i cant fly no more :/ plz help

Both mods make changes to fd.class, which means you'll only be able to use one mod, not both. Sorry, but that's just the way it is :tongue.gif:
Whats the correct way to change the hunger properties in the text file? COuld I have an example on how to change each setting?
Did you know where to find it? In-case you didn't, it's in .minecraft\mods\Xie\hunger.ini.
If you already knew where to look for it, and have already opened it with at least notepad AND read what was written inside, then telling you how to change the settings would be like telling you how to type. It's too obvious. In-case you didn't know, Xie is one of this great modders that gives out too many options and clear instructions in his settings files.
Reading is a better solution than asking. Please don't ask dumb questions again.
# Xie Hunger 1.3_01v1.0.3 settings file
# Hunger Difficulty: 1 - disabled, 2 - food heals AND feeds
# 3 - food heals OR feeds (heals before feeds, unless you're starving)
HungerDifficulty=2
# Hunger Time: time (~minutes) till you start to starve to death
# (It will take this time again to die if you're full health)
HungerTime=15
Hunger Difficulty:1
I did this and it is not disabled. Just wondering what I'm doing wrong, you don't have to go out and call me stupid behind your words.

First, I didn't call you stupid, the question was what I called dumb.
Second, "-"s are used to connect 2 things, in this case, 1 and disabled.
Lastly, you may not be stupid, but you fail to understand what was simple, and you probably saw/read it twice or more.
P.S.
This might not make the "Lastly" part "last", but just to add, you also didn't understand what "dumb questions" mean. Just to explain, Dumb Questions are questions with dumb content. ;p
I haven't tried it. Why don't you try it? Just back-up your jar and save.
