Is there a function in the config file for something like tree decapitator, where it requires the materials and durability for removing and placing objects?
If not, consider the next part, which goes into in-depth detail of how the idea could work, and the features that would be part of this idea.
Like if I wanted to do //set stone, for a 30x30 (30 blocks long, 30 blocks wide) plot of land, which, lets say it was all level/flat, and it was all grass, and you had a diamond shovel, and 900 stone (about 14-15 64 stacks of stone, the inventory has 36 slots, 27 not counting the hand slots), then it would use up the durability of your diamond shovel (you would set the parameters with the wooden axe, then switch tot he shovel of your choice, then execute the //set stone command) and remove all 900 of your stone, and the 30/30 plot of land, and replace the grass with your stone.
If you had, lets say, half of what is needed to fill in your plot of land, but you had enough durability, then it would remove the plot of land, and the durability that would have been needed, and place as much as you had. When you have the rest of what you want, you would redo the command (assuming you kept the parameters as they were, if you changed the parameters for something else, you will need to replace the parameters where you wanted), and it would finish the job. If you didn't have enough durability, it would break as much as it could, then place the blocks. When you make another tool to finish the job, just redo the command, and it will break and place the blocks. If you have the blocks needed, but not the tool(s) (I add the (s), in case you need 2 of a tool, like 2 shovels) then it will give an error message, and the command will not work.
Naturally you could do what tree capitator did, and make this the default, or make it a mode you can activate with a command, keybind, or an option in the config file.
I love world edit, but I also dislike like cheating very much, so I hope this idea comes to life in some form or fashion.
I have some problems with world edit. I installed it to 1.7.2 forge, and I have tried finding the config file to edit some values, and apparently it is located in a folder called 'spc'. I do not have this folder. Why so? Thanks.

spc = single player commands was a mod that gave the user W.E. , look through the forum for the discontinued mod
forge W.E. should store here on windows %AppData%\Roaming\.minecraft\config\worldedit\worldedit.properties
and your schematics go here %AppData%\Roaming\.minecraft\config\worldedit\schematics\

There is no official SPC beyond 1.6.4.
If 164 SPC was properly installed worldedit may be */bin/spc/worldedit.properties.
with the tree tool can you change the type of tree?
I won't swear it works with 1.8 and below but I just did with WorldEdit-forge 1.9 (Downloadable World Edit command list in my signature).
I selected a stone hoe and typed /tool tree.
To change what tree it plants type "/tree type" ie "/tree birch". There is a link to a WE list of tree types in my command list.
Hope This Helps

I'm having issues with the paste command I load the schematic correctly, but when I type //paste, its says "Unknown command". It is a forge server, but i'm using the Forge version of Worldedit. Please help!

Forge W.E has to be installed on the Forge Server end .
Is it a Sponge Forge Server ? What Version of MC ? If commands are missing I'd think that the plugin did not get loaded . if you have perms do /plugins to see if WE is loaded other mods are able to load schematics , etc ... or have a overlap of functions . So if copy and paste are missing , the WE plugin must have not been loaded on server start up . It might be outdated
I loaded it as a Forge mod, not a plugin. Its a bukkit server (I found an old bukkit.jar online and I'm not making money using it, so not really an issue).
You have to uninstall Java 7 and install Java 8 , then update your Graphic Card driver because of the GL ERROR .Please use spoilers for long text next time . Thanks

The Forge WE mod is good for single player , a lan game , or even a Forge Server. To use WE on bukkut or spigot you will have to get the WE bukkit server version from here .
Having a WorldEdit issue -
Latest for Forge 1.7.10
I'm having an issue with percentages
e.g., //set 25%wood,50%gravel,dirt%25
I get back "Variables [wood,50] can't be resolved"
But it does set - unpredictably so. Gravel gets 70-80% distr, wood gets 20-30% or so, and dirt gets 0-3%
If I do //set 25%wood,50%gravel,25%dirt
I still get back "Variables [wood,50] can't be resolved", but I don't get dirt anymore: the 3% is replaced with a noteblock (id 25)
If I swap all of them
i.e., //set wood%25,gravel%50,dirt%25
I get "Variables [25,gravel] can't be resolved" and "For parameter
'pattern': Can't figure out what block 'wood%25' refers to"
Server and client restart do not help.

Try using block ID's for 1.7.x example //set 25%17:0,50%13:0,25%3:0
Whenever I use the farwand I can only select the second position (right-click) from far, I can't select the first position (left-click) from far. Why is this happening? I tried different versions but same problem
Also:
Is there a reason why //sel sphere shows it as squared? (Probably an issue with CUI)
First of all, I gave up because no matter what I did, it kept placing whatever I copied in a random area.
Second, //replace stone 10%endestone isn't working.

If standing on the NE corner; //Pos1 and //Pos2, at your feet, then //expand 29 e, //expand 29 n, //set stone = 30 x 30 blocks of stone.
You can also stand in the middle and //expand 10 10 n, //expand 10 10 e, //set sandstone = 21 x 21 sandstone blocks, with you in the center.
Download the WE PDF in my signature and I think it'll help.
Lou
Forgot //outset -h 29 , //set stone = 59 x 59 stone blocks. No -h and it's a 59 x 59 x 59 cube and you're dead center.

Is there a limit to how big schematics can be when you make them and how do I find them and load them from singleplayer to multiplayer servers?
Installed Forge, dropped WorldEdit into the mods folder, and nothing. Forge shows up, but it sees no mods but its own.
